WoW Guide: Reputation Guide WotLK – Sons of Hodir

The Sons of Hodir faction is special because you don’t have direct access to the Frost Giants. You must first complete a long quest chain in order for the frosty Sons to be favorable to you. The prerequisites for successfully completing the quests are reaching character level 77 and having the Cold Weather Flight skill, as well as a flying mount. Once you befriend the Sons, they will offer you these goods.

A long way

It all starts in the Storm Peaks in the goblin camp K3. There, Gretchen Fizzyspark asks you to free five goblin prisoners for the quest They’ve Got Our Men! You will get to know the villages of Sifreldar and Brunnhildar early on. Free the goblins and return to K3. The following mission Leave No Goblin Behind will send you back to Sifreldar. There you’ll meet Lok’lira, the old woman, with whom you’ll complete a of missions: For the trade with the elders, you’ll receive a rune of Yrkvinn from Warden Syra. Then you’ll disguise yourself and meet Mildred the Cruel. With this you can punish lazy miners. Once that’s done, you’re supposed to kill Garhal, who’s involved in an argument a few yards away. After that, you’ve gained Mildred’s trust and can free the old woman with the quest A Certain Prisoner Lok’lira. Meet her in front of the mine. By the way, from now on you’ll automatically put on the disguise as soon as you enter Brunnhildar.

Preparation for the contest

For the quest “Is this your goblin?” free a small child by killing Agnetta Tyrsdottar. Now listen to the old lady for the Hildarthing and find out that you are qualified for the contest. The TaskThe confrontation with all the challengers is the first opportunity to prove your skills. Defeat six victorious challengers. You need a bear for the next round, so the old woman sends you to Brijana. She’ll shoo you east on the back of a bear, where you’ll have to burn seven frost worms and 15 frost giants while you ride. Once that’s done, return to Brijana and take on the next quest, Coldhearted. This one is especially fun: you free frozen Brunnhildar by shooting ice bolts at frozen targets from the back of a Proto-Draken. The proto-drakes are chained directly in front of Dun Niffelem. By the way, you can switch directly from your flying beast to the dragon. With each dragon you can free three prisoners. After your success you should talk to Astrid Bjornrittar in Brunnhildar. She will ask you to decimate the yeti population south of Brunnhildar to get three yeti skins.

Thorim on the Pillar

The quest series ends here, but to get in touch with the Frost Giants, you must accept the quest The Last of Their Kind from Astrid Björnrittar. Also complete the quest The Slimy Darkness, as both quests lead to the same cave. Once the bear is rescued, you must ride the reins of the bear and defeat Kirgaraak. You can demonstrate your bear riding skills again in the follow-up quest Into the Pit. After two conversations with Lok’lira, the old woman, and Gretta, the referee, you get a fun mission: the Drakkensryd. A proto-drake will take you to the Temple of Storms. You’ll circle the temple and have to swing from one dragon to the next with the Hyldnir harpoon to defeat the Hildarthing dragonriders sitting on it. A little tip: Sometimes warlocks and hunters have trouble with the task because they didn’t pack the companion beforehand. Once the task is done, talk to Thorim sitting on top of the pillar. You will receive the quest Mend Fences. For this you will have to slay Fjorn and five giants. Don’t forget to use the pendant. You loot the mud-covered metal from the giants. The item will start The Refiner’s Fire mission – complete it along with Repair Fences. You can then redeem the former at the anvil near the dead Fjorn. Then return to Thorim and you will finally be neutral to the Sons of Hodir when you place the orders. Dun Niffelem is now accessible and you will find more quests there.
