The Kirin Tor are a group of powerful mages who ruled ancient Dalaran. At that time, they could not withstand the attack of Kel’Thuzad and his servant Archimonde. Those who remained continued to protect the ruins. Today’s Dalaran is therefore defended all the more fiercely by the Kirin Tor, and serves as a bulwark against the Scourge and the Blue Dragonflight for the followers of the guild.
The Amber Hem
In the Borean Tundra, you will encounter several representatives of the Kirin Tor on the Amber Edge. Librarian Garren has several tasks for you. A series of quests will lead you to the Winterfin Cave, where more quests await you, but they have nothing to do with the faction. The actual series of quests awaits you when you are sent to the Amber Bar. In the case of the Alliance, Mosquito sends you off with the quest just in time, on the Horde side it’s Endorah in the Fortress with Too tight for my taste.
Both factions get the same quest line where you take on the Beryl Mage, free arcane prisoners and kidnap a Beryl Mage. Only after a little torture lesson does the prisoner come out with information. Then you face the Inquisitor Salrand and take the broken key from him. Now the key just needs to be reforged.
Ready for the island
Go to Surristrasz to start a new quest line. The task Take someone under his wing starts the missions, at the end you save Lady Evanor after a dragon ride. After Surristrasz and Lady Evanor confer, you will be sent to Coldarra. By the way, this is the official way to get to the island. There is neither an airfield nor a footpath that you could use to reach the island.
Once there, Archmage Berinand has a few quests in store for you. Collect Shards from the Ancients to get the follow-up quest “Accelerate” for the instance “The Nexus”. Also, the Mage asks you to read the counters around the Nexus so that you can receive a quest for the Nexus afterwards as well. Your task is to prevent the spread of the rift in the Nexus.
dalaran
In the Dragonwing, there are more quests in Sternenruh (Alliance) and Agmar’s Hammer (Horde) to improve your reputation with the Kirin Tor. The long quest chain to complete for the Wyrmrest Pact also includes some quests that earn reputation points with the Kirin Tor.
As early as level 71, mages have the opportunity to gain access to Dalaran by completing a quest in Starry Rest and Agmar’s Hammer. All that is required is to use the attunement crystal in the pit under the Undergrind Needle in the Moonrest Gardens. This also earns reputation points with the mages of Dalaran. All other players get access to the common capital only at level 74 through the quest The Magic Kingdom of Dalaran . You can get this quest in almost all inns in the starting areas of Northrend.
The instance quests
In the other areas, there are no quests that give you reputation points for the Kirin Tor. Nevertheless, this faction is one of the easiest to “farm reputation”. This is because you will also receive reputation from the Kirin Tor for the daily instance quests you receive in Dalaran outside the Violet Fortress. In addition, these instance quests offer four badges to choose from in normal mode. If you choose the Kirin Tor Commendation Badge, you will receive 325 reputation points for a normal daily instance quest. There is also the “Containment” quest in Dalaran, for which you will receive a whopping 500 reputation points. All you have to do is visit the instance in the capital, the Violet Fortress, and kill Cyanigosa.
With the tabard of Kirin Tor, you’ll earn reputation in instances starting from level 80. You’ll get the tabard at the reputation level “Friendly”. Jewel cutters, fishermen and master cooks make themselves popular with daily professional quests.
