Preparation
You can no longer access Razorfen Downs via the entrance in the Barrens, but from Thousand Needles. From the southern tip of the Barrens, jump into the waters of Thousand Needles and paddle east a little. Not far from the former large elevator you will see a small rock stairway guarded by some harmless turtles. Get out of the water there and follow the path into the Razorfen Thorn Thicket. On your right you will discover the path to the instance portal.
Tuten’kash (1)
After entering the instance, first walk straight ahead (if you just want to go through the instance quickly, choose the path on the right and immediately fight boss number (3)). If the path splits, stay to the left until you reach the suppliant’s room. Clear the room of all quilboar and then hit the gong on the small hill on the left. At first, a lot of Grave Fiends will rush towards you. The best way to fight the spider creatures is with area damage. Then hit the gong again. This time, four larger Tomb Reavers will come running towards you. Kill them one by one before you hit the gong again. After the gong hits, the nerubian Tuten’kash will crawl out of the eastern passage. He spreads a curse on all nearby players, increasing cast time and the time between melee attacks by 15 percent. If you stand far enough away from the boss as a healer or ranged fighter, you will be spared the curse. All party members stay behind the boss to avoid being hit by his gossamer shower. Melee fighters also have to be careful, because every melee attack against the boss has a chance to coat the attacker with a Virulent Poison.
Tuten’kash AbilitiesCapability | Effect |
Curse of Tuten’kash | Increases cast time and time between attacks by 15 percent for all nearby players. Curse. |
gossamer | Players standing in a cone in front of the boss will be pinned down for 5 seconds. |
Virulent Poison | Inflicts Nature damage every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. |
Mordresh Fireeye (2)
If you turn left after leaving the petitioner’s room, you will reach the murderer’s pens, where you can complete a quest – you can find out more about this under point (5). Keep going straight ahead until you come to a huge pile of bones with several skeletons cavorting and dancing. Kill the Splinterbone Skeletons with area damage and then attack Mordresh Fireeye. The skeleton heats up the tank with fireballs and occasionally casts a fire nova that hits all nearby players. Ranged fighters and healers stay as far away from the boss as possible because of the fire nova.
Abilities of Mordresh FireeyeCapability | Effect |
fireball | Deals Fire damage to the target. |
fire nova | Inflicts Fire damage to all nearby players. |
Very Hungry (3)
Run back the path a short distance and turn left into a long corridor. Follow the passage until you meet the insatiable. The monstrosity is surrounded by a disease cloud that damages all nearby players. Apart from this aura and a rage effect, which the boss affects from about 20 percent of his life points, he has nothing to oppose you.
Glutton’s AbilitiesCapability | Effect |
disease cloud | Deals damage to nearby players. |
rage | Glutton’s attacks deal increased damage and the boss strikes faster. |
Amnennar the Coldbringer (4)
Keep running down the corridor until you get to the top of the hill. The lich Amnennar the Coldbringer hovers there, waiting for you. Ranged fighters and healers stay away from the boss to avoid being hit by his frost nova. The tank keeps taking Frost damage from its Frost Bolts. Players in melee range are also occasionally knocked back by Amnennar’s Wrath – be careful not to be knocked off the hill into the depths. Melee fighters also expect their movement and attack speed to be reduced by Amnennar’s Frost Armor. If his life points drop, he also summons Frostbane Specters, which you fight with area damage.
Abilities of Amnennar the ColdbringerCapability | Effect |
Amnennar’s Wrath | Players in melee range will occasionally be knocked off the boss. |
Frostbolt | Deals Frost damage to the target and slows their movement speed for 4 seconds. |
Frost Nova | Freezes all nearby players for 8 seconds. |
frost armor | Increases the Armor of the Coldbringer. Melee attacks against the boss reduce the attacker’s movement and attack speed. |
Summon Frostbane Wraiths | Summons a Frostbane Specter that attacks the party. |
