The fiercely contested Titan stronghold in the icy Northrend, Wintergrasp, not only offers PvP rewards for victorious heroes, but also a raid instance. You can expect open field battles without army restrictions, siege weapons and of course lots of loot – with Wintergrasp, Blizzard wants to do everything better than in Silithus, the Eastern Plaguelands and co. We give you the tips you need to keep the upper hand in the turmoil.

The basics

One thing : to get to Wintergrasp, you should not only have reached level 77, you also need a flying mount to get there. Once a battle is underway, the Kirin Gate mages in Dalaran will also provide you with a portal. You are not allowed to fly in the sea area itself, only pedestrians, horsemen and armored riders are allowed here. In contrast to Alterac Valley, there is only one base in Wintergrasp, and that is an old fortress defended by the side that won the last battle for Wintergrasp.

The Battle for the Walls restarts every two and a half hours and then lasts for 30 minutes. Outside of the main battle, you can engage in skirmishes with your opponents, complete daily quests, or farm particles from elementals that proliferate there. However, it is impossible to conquer the fortress. If the attackers manage to enter the main room and destroy the artifact within 30 minutes, the conquest battle is over and the fortress belongs to the victorious party.

Do not lose your orientation

Before you start, you should make sure that all your teammates are in a single raid to facilitate strategy coordination and the work of your healers. At the beginning, the defenders have the Siege Workshops (W1) as well as Wintergrass (F) itself. The attackers have to make do with the workshops (W2) and the towers (T) cut off to the south, which don’t give them much advantage.

The towers are too far away from the battlefield. The workshops only have grenade launchers, which are hard to aim. It makes more sense to support your comrades-in-arms with your . Conveniently, when you eliminate enemies on the battlefield and are outnumbered, you get a stackable buff that increases both your health and the power of attacks and healing spells.
