The Priest – Versatile Healer and Shadow

Parker Before we dive into the tactics and tricks important to raid disciples, let’s give the novice a quick overview of the Priest class and the unique abilities that make up the spellcasting robed one.

Chakras are a blessing
WoW: Cataclysm introduced an exciting and completely new mechanic for the Holy Priest: the . You learn the ability via talent in the holy tree and can be activated at the push of a button. Depending on your next spell cast, your chakra will grant you additional bonuses and spells:
Chakra: Epiphany – Generated by Heal, Flash Heal, Greater Heal, or Binding Heal. Convert your Holy Word: Chastise into Holy Word: Epiphany . Particularly good for single target healing.
Chakra: Refuge – generated by Prayer of Healing or Prayer of Mending. Converts your Holy Word: Chastise into Holy Word: Sanctum . Particularly good for group healing.
Chakra: Chastise – generated by Mind Spike or Holy Torment. The Holy Word: Chastise spellremains. Particularly well suited for fights in which you have to dish out damage.

Archangels – heal through damage Thanks to the three talents Preacher , Archangel and Atonement
introduced in WoW: Cataclysm, it is possible for a healing orientation to achieve quite high healing values through dealt damage for the first time. In addition to the five invested talent points, you also need the two glyphs in this way of playing
Glyph of Agony and
Due to the necessary talents and glyphs, you have to forego some otherwise exciting alternatives. But is this sacrifice worth it? The community is very divided on this. The two damage spells Holy Torment and Holy Fire provide you with a very high mana efficiency thanks to the Archangel effect and the generated Preacher stack. The healing generated in this way is sufficient to maintain a certain base healing, at least in fairly quiet phases, and at the same time deal additional damage. Especially in boss fights, in which a threatening berserker mode calls for every point of DPS, the damage done by a discipline priest can make the difference – at least if the phased mode doesn’t want to do without healing the player. Incidentally, the healing generated by Atonement benefits from any debuffs that increase the target’s magic damage taken or the critical hit chance of spells on the victim. Of course, you mustn’t forget that your actual healing spells – which you of course also use – are temporarily noticeably increased by the archangel effect.
The critics, on the other hand, point out that the healing produced by atonement produces neither love nor mercy . And the talent does not benefit from either. At the same time, Atonement reduces healing when the damage you deal is reduced by Resilience, Absorption, or other damage-reducing effects. The biggest point of criticism after patch 4.2. However, rest assured that the healing generated by Atonement will not be affected by the recently introduced 200 percent heal on a critical hit. True Strength Comes From Within Priests have a unique ability to empower themselves with sacred energy. You can choose between two buffs:
.
The two effects do not cost mana points and can be flexibly adjusted depending on the situation. Most of the time you fall back on Inner Fire and only switch to Inner Will if you have a longer march ahead of you and can accept a global cooldown.

Leap into happiness
With a leap of faith priests in WoW: Cataclysm have received a very exciting ability that lends itself to a wide variety of uses. If a colleague is being pursued or has to flee quickly from a harmful effect, you can summon him and save his life. The same applies to fellow players who sleep with their eyes open and therefore do not even notice that their feet are already burning in the fire. In both PvP and PvE, you can also optimize the tactics of your group by supporting your teammates when changing positions that do not have a jump or a sprint. And even in less dramatic situations, you can enrich the lives of your players with the Leap of Faith. If an AFK player threatens to endanger the party because a trash patrol crosses their path, or because all players have to cuddle for an opponent, then simply pull the warrior to the group. If tauren block the tables of magicians or the fountain for health stones, you can at least pull one of them aside for a moment. What other pranks you can do with the ability, we leave to your imagination.
