A few weeks after the release of Patch 3.2, the left wing of Archavon’s Chamber is no longer empty. Those who choose this path will inevitably encounter Koralon the Flamekeeper – the third boss of the Wintergrasp instance. In keeping with the start of the new arena – Season , Koralon has also brought some new S7 and T9 parts.
Group composition
Apart from a few special features, the fight against Koralon is quite simple. In the 25-player version, two tanks share the “meteor fists” to divide the damage done between them. Four to five healers keep the group alive. The rest is filled with damage bearers.
For the 10-man variant, a single tank is usually enough. However, if you want to play it safe, you can add a second tank for the Meteor Fists. Two to three healers should also be in the mix. Ideally, one of them should have group healing spells. The rest is filled up with damage dealers as usual.
25 version | Skill Tips | 10 version |
---|---|---|
Meteor Fists: The skill that puts the most pressure on the tank. Hits can deal up to 20,000 points of damage, but can be split evenly between two targets. | ||
Burning breath: Continuous raid-wide splash damage. If “Burning Rage” is active for too long, the pressure on the tank or healers will eventually become too great. | ||
Flaming Tinder: Run out of the fires as quickly as possible to minimize the damage. Leave at least five yards to your neighbor so that each use of the skill affects a maximum of two raid members. | ||
Burning Rage: At 10 percent health, Koralon’s damage increases by 5 percent every 10 seconds. The longer the skill runs, the greater the pressure on the entire raid. |
Tactics
Ideally, Koralon is tanked at his starting position at the rear of the chamber. The second tank or the teammate with the next highest life number is positioned 10 meters away from the main tank. The rest of the group positions themselves in the hall depending on the task. It is important to keep a distance of at least five meters from each other.
Ten seconds into the fight, Koralon uses his Flaming Tinder ability for the first time. This causes a fire to form under two randomly selected raid members, dealing 3,000 damage every second. To relieve the healers, you should run from the fire as quickly as possible. It may happen that these fires also form around melee fighters near the tank. Then it is advisable for the tank to change position in front of Koralon. During the battle, Flaming Tinder is used every 20 seconds.
At about the same time as Flaming Tinder, Koralon spits his Burning Breath throughout the entire raid. It spins twice and hits each raid member twice for 4,000 fire damage each time.
The Meteor Fists skill is used against the tank. During their 15-second duration, the boss’s blows deal 15,000 to 20,000 points of damage. However, these are split evenly between the tank and a random target within ten meters of the tank. It is therefore recommended that only one other player be within this radius during this time to make the healers’ job easier.
