The Lich King
Life Points: Approx. 17,430,000
Rage: 15 minutes
Lineup:
3 healers, 2 tanks, 5 damage dealers.
Phase 1
The Lich King continues to summon creatures:
Ghoul Slaves:
Are used by the Arthas tank and eliminated by “passive” AoE damage such as Consecrate or Rift.
Staggering Horror:
Taken by the second tank and tanked away from the raid. Must be killed by ranged fighters before a second horror can spawn. Occasionally creates a rage effect that can be removed by a hunter with the tranquilizer shot.
Other important skills:
Infected:
Deals damage and leaves a debuff. If the affected player heals more than 90% of their hit points, the debuff disappears.
Necrotic Plague:
Afflicted players run as fast as they can to the Shambling Horror tank. It must be removed before it can deal damage for the first time after 5 seconds. The dispell process causes the plague to jump to the horror. Keep letting the plague jump back to the horror with dispells.
Phase 2 (phase change at 70 percent)
Lasts about 60 seconds. The raid spreads slightly toward the far edge of the battle platform, eliminating any remaining ghouls.
Tank rampaging ghouls that turn away from the raid and destroy them.
Ice orbs are destroyed by a ranged fighter before they reach their target.
At the end of the stage, Arthas casts a quake that breaks the edge of the platform you are on. Run to the center so you don’t fall and eliminate the remaining ghosts.
Phase 3 (60 seconds after the start of phase 2)
Still apply the debuff Infested to the raid, but no longer apply the debuff Necrotic Plague.
Soul Harvester:
After 5 seconds, the Arthas tank takes 50,000 points of Shadow damage. The second tank taunts before the first takes the Soul Reaper’s damage.
Profane:
Occurs every 35 seconds and lasts for 1 minute. The vortex grows for each player that takes damage from it. Scatter before this ability takes effect and immediately run from the affected area.
Val’kyr:
Appears every 50 seconds, grabs a player and tries to reach the edge of the platform. Slow and kill her before she can plunge the player into the abyss.
Phase 4 (phase change at 40 percent).
Runs similarly to phase 2. However, 4 angry ghosts now appear.
Phase 5 (60 seconds after the start of phase 4)
The Lich King continues to cast Soul Slayer on the tank and Desecration on random players. Repeatedly, players are devoured by Frostmour by Reap Soul:
Reap Soul:
The player takes 7,500 points of shadow damage every second. If he survives this, he will be drawn into Frostmourne. Healers heal King Terenas there, damage dealers deal damage to Arthas’ Soul Fragment.
Evil Spirits:
Arthas summons 10 spirits, which are immediately dealt with by your damage dealers. Try to kill them before they reach a player selected after 30 seconds.
