WoW Guide: Halls of Lightning

The Halls of Lightning are located in the eastern part of Ulduar, and can only be reached with a flying mount. Learn more about the Titans here for level 80 players.

The group composition comes as no surprise, with a tank, a healer and three damage classes making up the usual lineup. You can also complete two quests in the halls , for which you must defeat the second and fourth boss of the instance. You receive these quests from King Jokkum , the leader of the Sons of Hodir. To do this, however, you must complete the long quest line in the Storm Peaks, which begins at K3 with the task ” They have our men! “. New armor for shoulders and chest beckon here as a reward.

A whole bunch of rune dwarves

When you enter the instance, you can already see the first boss, General Bjarngrim , running around in the distance. Before you can deal with him, however, you’ll have to face a few standard enemies. First, kill the Steel Skycallers, who will attack you from afar with their guns. Then you’ll take on the Hardened Steel Berserkers. Your tank will bind them well, as they do a lot of damage. The Steel Reavers are a mere formality. The Stormforged Tacticians and Healers pose no real threat either – just make sure the latter can heal your comrades. After you’ve created enough space for the boss fight, General Bjarngrim and his two Stormforged lieutenants will get it.

Elemental adversaries

After the fight against the general, you will eliminate any remaining standard enemies that you encounter on the way to the forge. Inside the forge, you’ll encounter dozens of cinder elementals with low hit points. They corrode your players’ armor, so don’t bring too many of them. Of course, area-of-effect spells are quite handy against these enemies, but you have to be careful: they explode with a blast wave when they die. So don’t kill all the enemies at once to give your healer some breathing room. Nevertheless, you’ll have to make your way through the forge quickly, as the enemies will reappear after a very short time. Once you reach the other end, you’ll encounter more elementals. Firestorms and Steamfury put the party to a hot test – a sorcerer can banish if necessary. Kill the firestorms first, which do higher damage than their steam counterparts. Defeat all the enemies on the upper platform so you have more room to fight the second boss, Volkhan.

Living Statues

In the next section you won’t see any standard enemies, but be careful – appearances are deceiving. After you’ve gone a few meters, some of the stone statues on the side will come to life. The titan thugs will pelt you with throwing weapons, so kill them first. Then it’s the turn of the Titan Breakers. They deal out quite a bit, and teach you the fear just before they die. After three groups the way to the next room is free, in which some harmless elementals await you. Ionar, the third boss in the Halls of Lightning, is already waiting for you at the top right of the stairs.

The last enemies

In the following room there are again some enemies patrolling around. You will also have to deal with dwarven attackers again. The titan outposts occasionally throw a poisonous spear at a player, which your healer must pay special attention to. There is also a reunion with the Molten Golems. The Stormforged Shield Guards are not much of a problem. However, they will heal your fellows and occasionally give you a sleep effect. First and foremost, beware of the Rune Shapers. Their Charged Attack deals high damage to all players within melee range – they also bombard random players with projectiles in the process. Stun or disrupt effects are called for here. At the end, you’ll still have to deal with two giants that hit the tank especially hard. Also stay out of the storm to save your healer some work. After the two giant enemies, you’ll find yourself in front of Loken, who is sitting bored on his throne.
