WoW Guide: Gnomeregan

A part of Gnomeregan was recaptured by the gnomes during the pre-events of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, but the instance part is still firmly in the hands of irradiated troggs and crazy leper gnomes. In our guide we will show you how to free Gnomeregan from its corrupt inhabitants and what rewards you can get for it.

The entrance to Gnomeregan is to the west of Dun Morogh. Alliance players will receive rewarding quests within the instance. Unfortunately, Horde players get nothing. A visit is still worthwhile, however, because the bosses carry chic loot with them. However, members of the Horde should only dare to enter this instance via the dungeon finder, because you would have to die your way past boss-level enemies on foot.

Grubbies (1)
After you have entered the instance, keep to the left until you reach Demolitionist Emi Schnellbrenn. Talk to her to start the boss event. After a short monologue from the gnome lady, the tunnel on the side collapses and troggs storm out. While you keep the troggs off the demolitions officer, Emi attaches explosive charges to the tunnel wall. When she’s done with that, you have about ten seconds to move away from the tunnel entrance. Don’t stay inside the tunnel, or you’ll be trapped and the only way out of your misery will be to use the Hearthstone or a Warlock. Shortly thereafter, the tunnel opens up on the opposite side, where the game repeats itself. However, here the big Trogg Grubbis storms towards you with his crocolisk muncher. Kill Mummler first and then deal with Grubbis. Both strike in close combat and have no special abilities.

Liquefied Sediment (2)
Run back down the hall and bear left again until you reach the dormitory. On the opposite side is the passage to the Hall of Gears, where you will find the liquefied deposit. Eliminate the remaining opponents in the hall and then attack the deposit. The elemental strikes in melee, casting Toxic Volleys on players in a large area, dealing Nature damage every 3 seconds for 15 seconds.

Elektrocutor 6000 (3)
Leave the Hall of Gears in the west and follow the corridor. Watch out for Alarm-o-bots and kill them quickly if they spot you, otherwise they will call for help. Then run half a lap on the circular path until you reach the starting ramp over a bridge. On the ramp you will fight the next boss opponent: the Electrocutor 6000. The tank turns the boss away from the group so that only he suffers damage from the Megavolt ability. The rest of the group is spread out generously on the ramp, so the chain lightning bolt doesn’t jump to nearby players. In addition to the megavolt damage, the tank repeatedly suffers shocks, which also deal nature damage.

Crowd Pummeler 9-60 (4)
Continue along the loop path to the small passage south of the main passage you came through. Then go to the engineering labs. In the southern part of the labs you will meet the next boss. The tank pulls the Mechanical Behemoth away from the group, as its bow smasher deals damage to all players in front of it. Its trample deals damage to all nearby players. He also repeatedly casts a pack bash, which damages all nearby players and interrupts all spellcasting for 4 seconds. Healers and ranged fighters therefore keep their distance.
