The subterranean location of the Blackfathom Deeps probably protected the dungeon from the devastating effects of the cataclysm, because the instance in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm hardly differs from the original version. Only a few quest givers have been added. In our guide we show you which boss encounters are waiting for you and which loot you can dust off in the Blackfathom Deeps.
Preparation
The entrance to the dungeon is on the north shore of Zoram in Ashenvale. The ruins are partially submerged, but there are larger air pockets in the caves below. Dive into the cave system in the ruins and follow the path to the instance entrance. Directly behind you will find clients who provide you with various quests.
Ghamoo-ra (1)
After going through the instance portal, go straight ahead through some murlocs until you come to a lake. There you jump into the water and swim to the opposite bank. You can reach the western bank via the platform – here you have to jump over the cracks in the platform, otherwise you will end up in the water. A little further along the corridor you will already spot another lake with a small island in the middle. There the turtle Ghamoo-ra wanders around. The turtle can withstand a lot due to its thick shell, which is why the fight can take a little longer. She attacks herself with melee attacks and an occasional trample, which damages her target and nearby players.
Lady Sarevess (2)
In the north-west of Ghamoo-ra’s island you go into the cool water – but watch out: there are several naga lurking in the water. If you are involved in a fight under water, pay attention to your air supply or pull the opponent to the surface of the water. After that, dive through the underwater passage into the cave where Lady Sarevess and some other naga creatures are. Clear out the myrmidions, then deal with Sarevess. The tank turns the naga lady to face the wall and the group spread out in a semicircle behind her.
Loved (3)
Dive back to the island where you fought Ghamoo-ra earlier and head to the southern shore of the lake. In the long corridor that follows, you will meet other nagas and demons of the bringers of sorrows. Proceed carefully, as invisible Shadowstalkers also lurk in this corridor. Continuing straight ahead you will come to the shrine of Gelihast, which is guarded by some murlocs and Gelihast himself. First clear the room of the individual Murlocs and then devote yourself to Gelihast. The boss doesn’t hit very hard, but very quickly. Its only special ability is a net that it throws at a random player, tying them to the ground for two seconds. Tip: Once you have defeated Gelihast, place your hands on its shrine. This will grant you a 60 minute spell
Old Serra’kis (4)
Exit Gelihast’s Lair and turn left. Follow the next long corridor south until you reach the moonshrine ruins. Several groups of twilight followers and a frozen fire elemental await you there. This gives you the task of killing Twilight Lord Kelris and bringing him his head. Before doing so, however, jump into the water from the bridge in front of the Moonshrine Sanctum and dive under the runes. The boss Alter Serra’kis is hiding there. So that you don’t run out of air during the fight, it is best for your tank to pull the boss out of his cave and onto the surface of the water. If you don’t need to be close to the boss, go to maximum range as Serra’kis’ Siphon Pulse ability steals life from all nearby players and heals himself.
Twilight Lord Kelris (5)
Continue on your way until you arrive at the Moonshrine Sanctum. It’s teeming with cultists there, which you must first eliminate. In the center of the room, Kelris sits meditating at a Naga shrine. If you attack him, he will retaliate with Mind Blasts and a Sleep spell that puts enemies within 30 yards to sleep for up to 6 seconds.
