WoW Fit for Raids – the best items to start Warlords of Draenor

We’ll show you how to quickly and effectively equip your character in Warlords of Draenor. In line with our detailed from PC Games MMORE 11/14, in this article we will show you how to get your first pieces of equipment with which you can venture into the Warlords of Draenor raids.

WoW: Warlords of Draenor is here! Some players are happy that they can finally experience new adventures for many, many hours. Others, on the other hand, want to reach the new maximum level as quickly as possible and equip themselves for the new raids. We’ve got a rundown of items you might want to grab for your first raid adventures. You will find useful on how to get hold of items below.

Fit for Raids – The Crucible
Initially, like Mists of Pandaria, you get most of your equipment in heroic instances. In order for you to be able to register for these via the dungeon tool, you must first pass the Crucible on Silver difficulty – for each role you wish to play. For successfully completing the Crucible you will receive a weapon with an item level of 610 via the associated quest. You start the quest for the Crucible itself as usual with your class teacher or in your garrison.

Fit for Raids – Equip via garrison buildings
In the garrison you can build up to three small buildings, which you can theoretically use to craft useful equipment. The following garrison buildings allow you to craft item level 640 equipment without having to practice the respective profession yourself:

Blacksmith, Tannery, Tailoring and Jewelcrafting: Depending on the armor class, you can equip yourself with 630 items except for rings, necklaces and jewelry via the Blacksmith, Tannery or Tailoring. With a little more effort, you can even produce 640 items, which can be improved by a further ten item levels. However, in order to craft epic items, the respective building must be level 3. Rings and Necklaces can be obtained from the Jewelcrafting workshop. Inscribers also have the ability to craft Darkmoon cards, which can be upgraded further this time, making them useful for longer.
Inscription: Two-handed staves with Agility (from level 1) and Intelligence (building level 3) and shield hands with Intelligence (level 3).
Engineering: A gun with item level 630 that can be used from level 91.
Alchemy: Draenic Philosopher’s Stone (item level 620, usable from level 91). This gem has by default and a proc chance that increases your main attribute by 771 points for 15 seconds. In addition, the new Philosopher’s Stone increases the effectiveness of healing and mana potions by 40 percent.
Gearing with Restrictions: In theory, you can fully stock up on 640 items and already have LFR-level gear… theoretically. Because practically you can only have three manufactured epic items on at the same time. So you have to choose carefully which epic items you want to craft yourself. So it makes sense to consider which items you want to craft yourself and which ones you want to buy for Apexis Crystals.
Fit for Raids – The Apexis Crystals
If you are unlucky in Heroic instances and/or want to upgrade a gear slot, you can purchase level 630 items for Apexis Crystals. You can upgrade these for more crystals at item level 640 and 650. For the third upgrade of an item, you must first wait for the Blackrock Foundry raid unlock. Vendors with these items can be found on Ashran in the faction capitals with the arakkoa. Apexis Crystals – the all-purpose currency in Warlords of Draenor – can be obtained from almost any source: be it as a reward for quests, from enemies or via follower missions in the garrison.

Fit for Raids – More equipment options via the garrison
Another way to get epic items is to send followers from your garrison on raid missions. To unlock raid missions, however, you need your Frostwolf Tavern (Horde) or Lunarfall Inn (Alliance). Otherwise you will get some items with an item level of 615 via follower missions, which is not too bad for a start.

Fit for Raids – Equip via Challenge Mode
Right next to the Apexis Crystal vendors in your main city on Ashran you will find the Challenge Mode item vendor. This gives you a daily quest to complete a specific dungeon in challenge mode. With a bit of luck, the loot chest you get for this will contain an item with an item level of 640.

Fit for Raids – What drops where?
Level 630 Items: In Heroic instances and craftable through the Garrison
Level 640 Items: Raid Finder (LFR), Challenge Mode Daily Quest and Garrison Craftable – Requires Profession!
Level 650 Items: World Bosses (Talnar, Drov, and Rukhmar)
Level 655 Items: Normal difficulty raid
Level 670 Items: Raid on Heroic Difficulty
Level 685 Items: Raid on Mystic difficulty
Note that the Blackrock Foundry items are 10 tiers higher than the Highmaul items.

Fit for Raids – Birthday Epic Helmets
Before you buy or craft an Apexis Crystal helmet, remember that November 21st is WoW’s 10th birthday. Then, in addition to the cuddly corgi pet, you will receive an epic 640 helmet for successfully completing the Molten Core raid.

Fit for Raids – Items via Factions?
In contrast to Mists of Pandaria, in Warlords of Draenor you hardly equip yourself with factions. This is mainly due to the fact that there are fewer daily quests on the one hand, and on the other hand that the few pieces of equipment from the faction traders are not particularly good. Most factions offer fun items and 615 trinkets in addition to mounts and tabards.

Fit for Raids – This is how you get the new coins for bonus loot
In Warlords of Draenor, additional loot rolls require the Seals of Forged Fate. As in Mists of Pandaria, these are obtained via a weekly quest. This time, however, you buy the maximum of three bonus rolls per week individually. To obtain the seals, you can either spend Garrison Resources, Gold, Apexis Crystals, or Honor Points. Each seal you buy for the same currency doubles the price of the next seal. It therefore makes sense to buy seals for different currencies at the beginning. The weekly quest for this is available from level 100 on Ashran.

Fit for Raids – Grab the new Legendary
Fresh at level 100 – developers say from level 98 – the quest series starts with Khadgar, which brings you a legendary ring at the end. The individual quests are sometimes time-consuming, but you don’t have to set foot in a raid for the first two stages of the ring. All you have to do is beat your way through the heroic instances of Warlords of Draenor and you’ll get a ring at item level 640, later at item level 680!

Fit for Raids – The world bosses of Warlords of Draenor
Of course there are also world bosses in Draenor waiting to be defeated by you. The first two world bosses (Talnar and Drov) can be found in Gorgrond. Both drop level 650 items. The third boss, Rukhmar, flies around Spiers of Arak. The flaming bird drops items with an item level of 665 next to a mount.

Fit for raids – ” New” loot system
That’s a lot of ways you can equip your character. However, the first path should always lead you into the heroic instances before you decide what you want to craft yourself and what you want to spend Apexis Crystals on. The so-called personal loot awaits you in the dungeon browser, which you probably already know from the LFR and Flex modes. A boss doesn’t drop any loot that you can roll for, but you get it automatically – if the system provides loot for you – in your inventory. However: You have to loot yourself now!

In addition, the bosses in the instances do not have a loot table as you know them before: As can be seen in our list, a boss, for example, drops umpteen different helmets that have different combinations of values. Bosses from different instances drop the same helmets so that you don’t have to repeatedly knock down the same boss for the ideal value combination. Creating a so-called best-in-slot list (a list of the currently best items for each equipment slot), BiS list for short, is not that easy. Nevertheless, we have selected the right item for every class and style of play. You can see which boss can have this “BiS” item with them in the table above in the appropriate column for this equipment slot.
