WoW: Dragonflight: Alliance and Horde

In the upcoming WoW expansion , it no longer matters whether a Horde or Alliance player hit the mob – progress will count for both sides. Mob tagging will be a thing of the past.

During the current WoW expansion Shadowlands, the boundaries between Horde and Alliance were massively softened for the first time. We are now allowed to visit dungeons and even mythical raids with players from the other faction. The reactions to this have been positive almost across the board. And apparently, the people in charge at Blizzard see it very similarly.

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas recently said in an interview that cross-faction guilds are on the agenda, but that there is only a very rough timetable. With WoW: Dragonflight, the developers are now softening the boundaries and restrictions between Horde and Alliance even further. This time, however, the focus is not on group play, but on the free world.

WoW WotLK Classic: 2 new restart servers – Blizzard reacts to full realms

With the ID change on 09/14/2022, Blizzard is launching two new restart servers for WotLK Classic.

WoW: Two players, two extremely rare – but unfortunately twice beta servers

Capturing a rare mount in WoW is a reason to rejoice. But if it happens in the beta, you don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Mob tagging? Once upon a time

Who on the current PTR or the beta server of WoW. (buy now ): Dragonflight is on the road, you may have already noticed it, even if unconsciously. Blizzard developers have disabled mob tagging between factions!

Until now (and currently in Shadowlands), when a player hits a mob for the first time, it is “tagged” for them and their faction. For the players of the other faction, the life bar turns gray. They can continue to hit the mob, but they will not get any progress credit for it.

In WoW: Dragonflight, none of this matters anymore. Whether it’s a hordler or an alliance player – everyone who hits it gets the corresponding progress. With this, Blizzard opens the door for cross-faction group play even further. Joint questing with a player from the other faction is hardly possible at the moment, but it could be on the agenda next.

Completing a quest objective (killing a mob or clicking an item) already counts for all players in the group. As soon as the developers unlock this for the members of the other faction in the group as well, nothing will actually stand in the way of joint questing in Dragonflight. Another step towards the complete abolition of faction borders.
