WoW Classic: The best loot from the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (AQ40)

When the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj opens its doors in in the next IDs, the Azeroth raid groups have access to numerous enormously powerful items, some of which are still the best possible items for your characters in the last phase of the vanilla new edition belong. We present you some highlights from the raid.

Since the launch of Phase 5 in WoW Classic , communities across all servers have been working to open the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj and gain access to the two new Raid Challenges. As far as the quality of the loot is concerned, the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (AQ40) is of course particularly interesting for ambitious raid groups .

As before the release of the Blackwing Lair, we want to tell you which loot from the new raid challenge is particularly powerful. So powerful in part that they will also be among the best pieces of equipment in phase 6.

The Tier 2.5 class sets
In our large overview of WoW Classic Phase 5 , we already listed the new Tier 2.5 armor sets for all classes and revealed how you get them (the individual T-parts don’t just drop). But how good are the sets for the different ways of playing? We’ll tell you which classes benefit most from their sets:

Restoration Shaman gain an enormously powerful bonus to Chain Heal while wearing five pieces of the Tier 2.5 set. Not all healing shamans should aim for this bonus. It’s best if you coordinate and equip one or two shamans specifically with the set (plus three T2 parts), while the other shamans used as raid healers combine their three T2 parts with the best possible non-set items.
All villains, whether swords or daggers, want to fill up the tier 2.5 set in the medium term. The bonuses are only partially great (dagger villains only very rarely use eviscerate), but the values pull it out.
While warriors don’t want to fill out the T-2.5 set, there are individual pieces that can definitely be a strong option. In fact, the Conqueror ‘s Spaulders make the best pauldrons for offensive warriors in all of WoW (buy now) Classic.
Even warlocks will only find a few parts in their T-2.5 set that actually represent an upgrade: the Doomcaller’s Circlet and the Doomcaller’s Mantle .
Even though the T-2.5 set for priests offers two bonuses that affect the healing generated, the set, or more precisely: individual parts of the set are particularly interesting for shadow priests, because best in slot for phase 5: Tiara of the Oracle and Tunic of the Oracle .
Vengeance Paladins enjoy the diverse range of stats on the Tier 2.5 set, and will grab four of the five pieces in Stage 5 (and for Stage 6). Only the gauntlets of the righteous champion are better than the corresponding set counterpart. Tanking paladins at least attract the head and chest pieces of the set.
For mages, druids and hunters, the T-2.5- is not a desirable option.
The best from AQ40
Some weapons drop in the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj that will have a huge impact on your character’s performance.

Death’s Sting is actually a Naxxramas-quality weapon and at the same time the biggest DpS upgrade that rogues in particular (but also other potential dagger wielders) can get in all of Classic. The damage increase is even greater because Death Stab Dagger users can finally swap out Old Hidehide Gloves from Molten Core for an alternative with significantly better stats (apart from +Daggers).
Dark Edge of Madness is a beast of a two-handed weapon and a tremendously powerful option for all playstyles that rely on two-handed thrashing (Amp, Retribution, Offensive Warrior (Trash!)).
Blessed Qirajipugio may not be as strong as Death’s Sting, but it also provides a huge damage boost compared to the daggers available prior to Stage 5, making Death Sting the best off-hand weapon for dagger rogues.
What Pugio is to dagger scoundrels is his Blessed Qiraji War Ax to orc warriors . Non- orcs will find a powerful alternative in the Ancient Qirajizer Shredder . For Sword Rogues, Chromatic Tempered Sword is just a tad inferior.
Feral druids rejoice in Blessed Qiraji Warhammer , the first weapon that promises increased attack power for cats and bears.
The Scepter of the False Prophet of C’Thun is “Best in Slot” for multiple playstyles: Restoration Druids, Restoration Shamans, Healing Priests, and Healing Paladins. By the way, a strong off-hand for healers is Sartura’s power (also interesting for shamans: worm scale blocker ). If you want to deal damage, have Royal Scepter of Vek’lor on your list.
Mages, Warlocks, and Tanking Paladins, on the other hand, flirt with Viscidus’s Sharpened Silithid Bone for the main hand . Hunters delight in the Silithid Claw of Sartura.

The best jewels from AQ40

In business administration, there were enormously strong gems for all roles, which will continue to remain “Best in Slot” in phase 5. Unfortunately, only a few trinkets will now join them from the temple:

On paper, Jom Gabbar from Ouro offers the greatest possible increase in damage for villains, hunters and co. The sticking point: This only applies if the effect, which increases over 20 seconds, is optimally used. Ground Slam from the Silithus reputation quests is a more reliable but slightly weaker alternative.
There is still a big question mark behind the Swarm Guard Badge . At the moment, many numbers enthusiasts are assuming that the jewel in boss fights will be rather mow. However, when fighting Trash groups (of which there are plenty in AQ40), the Trinket could rock, especially in the hands of Hunters.
The scarab brooch can become a great alternative for some healers in certain situations.
The best non-set items from AQ40
Wildness druids will find a whole range of leather items in the loot lists, which represent a noticeable upgrade, but which other classes such as rogues or amplifier shamans are also keen on. Here are just a few examples: Belt of Endless Torment , Gloves of Enforcement or Qiraji Enforcement Bracers . Without too much competition, they should be able to grab items like Mantle of Vicious Vengeance or Vest of Swift Execution .
In AQ40 there are some very strong cloaks for all roles: cloak of the fallen god , cloak of concentrated hatred , cloak of the devoured and cloak of clarity .
When it comes to rings and necklaces, there are some strong options, especially for magicians: Amulet of Vek’nilash , Ring of the Fallen God for more offensively oriented spellcasters and Ring of the Martyr or Ring of the Devoured and Amulet of the Fallen God for all medics. Interesting for tanks who want to increase their survivability: Mark of C’Thun and Ring of the Emperor Vek’lor .
When it comes to strong non-set pieces of gear for offensive casters, the following items can’t be missing: Gauntlets of Dark Storms and Eyestrand Cord . The Rockfury Bracers from the upcoming Silithus reputation quests deserve a special mention here .
Non-sets that are strong for healers include: Patron Saint’s Robes , Royal Redemption Bracelets , Wasp Skin Gauntlets , Don Rigoberto’s Lost Hat , Messiah’s Gloves or Old God’s Grip .
Offensive warriors will find two powerful non-set armor pieces in the AQ40 loot lists, Hive Defiler Wristguards and Annihilation Breastplate . But the leggings of the titans that can be produced should be even more exciting for many plate fighters .
