WoW classic Nathanos Blightcaller when he was an alliance raid boss

When goes live in summer 2019, newcomers will get to know and love the most popular MMO of all time from a completely new perspective. To help you pass the time, we’ll be bringing you a few highlights over the next few months. Today you’ll meet Nathanos Lightcaller, the legendary champion of the Banshee Queen back when he was a really nasty Alliance raid boss in the Eastern Plaguelands!

When World of Warcraft (Classic) was released in Europe on February 11, 2005, all the major characters in the game universe still had standard player models. At most, the armor or minor model details that were not available to the player when creating the heroes were out of the ordinary. For example, Warchief Thrall was an ordinary light green orc whose blue eye color was unique in combination with his face type. The same goes for Nathanos Blightcaller, the legendary champion of the Banshee Queen.

Here is his resume in brief: Nathanos Blightcaller (born Nathanos Marris) is the champion and bodyguard of the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner and the trainer of new Forsaken Hunters. During his lifetime, Nathanos was the and only human Ranger Lord trained by the High Elves of Quel’Thalas, and was very close to Sylvanas. He died during the Third War and joined Sylvanas’ Forsaken as an undead shortly thereafter. As Nathanos Blightcaller, he stood for a long time in the Eastern Plaguelands, fighting the Alliance heroes who came to kill him. However, he only faked his death each time. Recently, his body was transformed with the help of Sylvanas’ Val’.

The harmless-looking undead, who could be identified as a hunter based on his two plague-infested hyenas, was located in the Eastern Plaguelands in , and in his capacity as a full-fledged raid boss – similar to his fellow hunter Rexxar in Desolace – he immediately sent unwary Alliance players to the afterlife. For the Horde, Nathanos was a quest giver for some tasks in the Plaguelands and in the Stratholme instance. He greeted (female) newcomers with the following words:

“No doubt you are just another incompetent Trine sent by the Dark Lady so that I, her hero, can train you. I have sent each and every one of you back to her in clean pieces, and I see no reason why this time should be any different. But it is not for me to ask, but to carry out the will of the Dark Mistress.”

In the following image gallery you will find the warm welcome and some quests of Nathanos including rewards. Soon we will meet again with the unforgettable swashbuckler!
