WoW Classic: Love is in the Air – Guide to the Classic Event

Love will soon be in the air in , too: from February 11th to February 16th, players can enjoy the annual Valentine’s Day, uh, love . However, the event differs in various ways from the event of the same name in the retail WoW version. We’ll explain the details to you.

While the annual event “Love is in the Air” in World of Warcraft (Retail) has already started, WoW: Classic (buy now) fans still have to wait until February 11 for the start of the holiday of the same name. Both versions differ not only in terms of their launch date. Instead, you have to adjust to a number of other differences that are so serious that the Classic version could almost be a completely independent event.

That’s why we summarize for you all the important information about the classic event “Love is in the air” based on a from Wowhead . First of all: The activities and quests differ significantly from the retail version. The chemical manufacturer Krone does not (yet) exist. Instead, there is another quest line in which you also follow the trail of the strange perfume scents and their special effect on the inhabitants of Azeroth.

You won’t get any mounts or pets as rewards during the event (such as the Great Love Rocket in the retail version), apart from the flying goblin Q.Pido. In addition to Q.Pido, there is a buff as well as various dresses and evening suits as a reward, but they do not bring any playful advantage (except to look nice). Also, the tokens of love do not act as event currency.

Signs of love and expressions of friendship – this is how you get the Pet Q.Pido
As long as the “Love is in the Air” event lasts, you can collect the so-called Love Tokens and exchange them with NPCs. At the end of a long series of exchanges, you will receive the pet Q.PIdo as a companion.

The first step is to gain the favor of individual NPCs:

Purchase several bottles of cologne , bottles of perfume , and tokens of love from an innkeeper .
Apply each perfume and interact with an NPC. Scented water bottle acts on female NPCs, perfume bottle on male NPCs.
Talk to the respective NPC to give him or her a token of love.
You will then receive a token of admiration or a gift of admiration, depending on whether you spoke to a guard or a normal NPC. You also get the Worshiped buff that lasts for one hour. While the buff is on you, you cannot receive another token or gift of admiration. Instead, NPCs give you a token or gift of friendship (more on that below).

The Pawn or Gift of Admiration includes the following items:

2-4x Unawarded Friendship Bracelet
5x handful of rose petals
Chocolate Box – randomly contains Dark Temptation , Beerens Echte , Buttermilk Kisses , Sweet Dreams or Empty Chocolate Case
3-5x love cheat
candy bag
Lovely Black Dress (not soulbound on pickup)

If you are unlucky, you will receive the debuff “Broken Heart” instead of the buff “Worship”. You cannot interact with NPCs while the debuff is active. However, an unassigned Friendship Bracelet can cancel the debuff – this even works across factions!

As long as the Adoration buff is active, you will receive a token or gift of adoration from NPCs. There are six different variations, one for each capital:

Gift of Friendship: Darnassus – from civilians in Darnassus, contains a handmade carving.
Oath of Friendship: Darnassus – from guards in Darnassus, contains the Pledge of Allegiance: Darnassus or Card of the Guard of Darnassus
Gift of Friendship: Ironforge – from civilians, contains homebrewed dwarven beer
Oath of Friendship: Ironforge – from Guardians, contains Pledge of Allegiance: Ironforge or map of the Guard of Ironforge
Gift of Friendship: Stormwind – from civilians, contains homemade bread
Oath of Friendship: Stormwind – from Guardians, contains Pledge of Allegiance: Stormwind or Stormwind Guard card
Gift of Friendship: Orgrimmar – from civilians, contains freshly baked cake
Pledge of Friendship: Orgrimmar – from Guardians, contains Pledge of Allegiance: Orgrimmar or Grunt’s Map
Gift of Friendship: Thunder Bluff – from civilians, contains freshly picked flowers
Pledge of Friendship: Thunder Bluff – from Guardians, contains Pledge of Allegiance: Thunder Bluff or Warden’s Map of Thunder Bluff
Gift of Friendship: Undercity – from civilians, contains a romantic poem
Pledge of Friendship: Undercity – from guardians, contains Pledge of Allegiance: Undercity or the guardian’s mold card
Once you have collected five gifts, five pledge collections, and five guardian cards from the same city, you can create a gift collection for that city:

Darnassus gift collection from the box of carvings, Darnassus peasant collection, and deck of cards.
Ironforge gift collection consisting of box of homebrew, Ironforge pledge collection, and card pack
Stormwind’s gift collection consisting of bread bag with homebrew , Stormwind’s pledge collection and card pack
Orgrimmar Gift Collection consisting of box of fresh cake , Orgrimmar Pledge Collection and card pack
Thunder Bluff Gift Collection from Flower Basket , Thunder Bluff Pawn Collection and Card Collection
Undercity Gift Collection from Romantic Poem Collection , Undercity Pledge Collection and Card Pack
Now use the Gift Collections from the three capitals of your respective factions to make the Alliance Gift Collection and the Horde Gift Collection, respectively. Once you’ve done that, go to one of your faction’s leaders in their respective capitals. There you will find the winged goblin Quixi Q. Pido, who will offer you the quest “Gift Delivery”.

Depending on which leader you choose, that leader will receive a vote. As a reward for the quest you get a box of chocolates and you can choose between a handful of rose petals and the arrow with truesilver shaft. The latter will summon Q. Pido as a pet. The faction leader who wins the popularity contest and receives the most votes will be accompanied by Q. Pido for another week after the event. If you then blow a kiss to Q. Pido (command “/kiss”), you will receive a one-hour buff that grants you +200 HP.
