WoW Classic is the downfall of many guilds in Battle for Azeroth

The launch of was a huge success. Within a few days, Blizzard had to massively increase the number of servers to cope with the huge rush. But not everyone is lucky. Because while millions of characters are roaming around on the Classic servers, many guilds are experiencing a rude awakening on the BfA servers.

Most probably expected that the WoW servers (buy now) Classic will be quite full for the few weeks. But it remains to be seen whether many players really expected such a large rush. In any case, Blizzard did not seem quite so convinced in advance and kept the number of servers rather small, which ended in long queues and the hectic opening of many more servers.
In the meantime, there are only smaller queues during prime time and almost all servers are well filled. Many millions of characters and accordingly many players are in the classic version of Azeroth and prefer to fight Defias bandits and Murlocs instead of Old Gods and Titans. Although the number of those who have completely turned their backs on Battle for Azeroth is probably limited, this means difficult times for many guilds. Especially for guilds that are still in the middle of progress, a true struggle for survival is currently beginning. Because a handful of missing players often means the cancellation of a raid evening and then very quickly the end of a guild.

25 quickly becomes 19
Because many guilds have a squad that is designed for the mythical content that requires a group of 20 players. Add a few more players to cover holidays or other commitments and you have a squad of 25 to 30 players. But these cadres are currently melting wherever you look. But not only the fact that some players have switched from BfA to Classic threatens the raids. In addition, displeasure is spreading in many guilds. While some of the players can’t do anything with Classic and BfA continues to play as if the Classic servers had never started up, there are a whole bunch of players who just play both.

However, since the time available has not suddenly doubled, the players in question are now seen much less frequently on Zandalar or on Kul Tiras. As a result, it can quickly happen that the gap between the players widens further. While some have already earned necklace level 65, others have preferred to earn a mount in Classic. Both are perfectly fine, but can lead to misunderstandings within a community. And so many guilds – a look at the WoW-related forums of this world is enough to notice that – are currently experiencing some problems caused by WoW Classic .
A somewhat deeper look at WoWProgress also quickly shows that the progress of many guilds has come to a considerable standstill with the start of WoW Classic. At the same time, the number of guilds looking for new players has increased rapidly.

Have you had similar experiences in Battle for Azeroth, or are you still running like clockwork? Or are you even one of those who have completely turned their backs on BfA and only or mainly hang around in Classic?
