WoW Classic Despite 15 years of experience – big fails of old hands

When WoW was released more than 15 years ago, we were all inexperienced newbies who had to discover the World of Warcraft little by little. We made a lot of mistakes back then, simply because we didn’t know any better. But even years of experience do not protect you from one or the other funny fail.

In my article All beginnings are difficult – big failures of small Azeroth characters , we already remembered our beginnings in the World of Warcraft together, and how ignorant, inexperienced and sometimes naive we explored this world called Azeroth. Anecdotes were pulled out of characters with completely destroyed equipment because the player behind the avatar hadn’t yet discovered the repair function for themselves. Another player remembers that he didn’t discover his hero’s talents until he was level 45. And there was also talk of melee owls.

But even years of experience do not protect you from one or the other funny fail. There were two proofs of this in my last business administration raid alone. Fail number 1: We took a short break in front of the two dragons Shadowwing and Flamemaw. While half of the players were stretching their legs, our raid leader took the opportunity to quickly show our two-legged closets the new tank position. As he was bouncing around in one of the alcoves, he suddenly drew the aggro of the flying boss. The result: the gradually returning players marveled at her corpse and the giggles in the discord.

I was then responsible for fail number 2 myself: With the dragons mentioned above, my rogue’s damage was surprisingly low. I was surprised, after all I was fully buffed, had a high level of activity on the boss and didn’t die an early heroic death either. Pondering, I opened my character window and saw…I still had the skinning dagger from UBRS equipped in my main hand. Did I accidentally activate my switch macro twice after the trash, pressed the wrong hotkey, or just forgot to switch back? No idea. The next laughs were of course at my expense.

Last but not least, I also liked a special kind of fail, which I stumbled upon while having my coffee this morning. During the fight against Vaelastrasz, after getting Burning Adrenaline, the tank accidentally hit the button for his Hearthstone. Apparently, the cast time is also reduced to zero by this ability, as he immediately found himself at his hearthstone location, dying alone. The rest of the raid, on the other hand, visited the spirit healer together.

Now it’s your turn: About which fails in the raids of WoW (buy now) Classic your guild had to laugh heartily in the last weeks and months?
