Update from July 29th: The servers are back online, phase 5 of WoW Classic has started. We wish everyone a lot of fun with the new content!

Update July 23: We’ve made the following additions to the final section of our WoW Classic Stage 5 overview article:

You can now obtain the Recipe: Transmute Elemental Fire recipe from the Thorium Brotherhood with a friendly reputation .
You can now earn the Formula: Two-Handed Weapon – Agility recipe with a friendly reputation at Timbermaw Hold.
Update July 22nd: We’ve now linked several articles in the relevant sections (highlighted UPDATE) of our WoW Classic Phase 5 overview article, which mainly deal with changes to the loot lists of numerous dungeon bosses as well as the loot pieces of the special bosses of the T-0.5 questline.

With Phase 5 of WoW Classic, the Blizzard developers are noticeably expanding the content of the vanilla new edition, with new raid challenges, two of the most epic quest lines of the Classic era, as well as a new faction and fresh rewards.

On this overview page you will find general information about the new features of phase 5, but also guides to all bosses in the Ahn’Qiraj raid instances. We’ll tell you how to master the quest series related to the opening of Ahn’Qiraj and the tier 0.5 upgrade and which items are not yet available with phase 5.

When does WoW Classic phase 5 start?
Since June 30th we know that phase 5 of WoW Classic will be released on July 29th :

Ahn’Qiraj content will unlock on July 29 with the weekly raid instance reset for all realms in that region.

From this point on, players can begin the quest line to craft the Scepter of Sandstorms and turn in collected resources to fuel the Ahn’Qiraj war effort.

Once these two activities are completed on a realm, the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj can be opened.

Specifically , the new content should be available as soon as the Classic servers are back online at around 9:30 a.m.

Classic Stage 5 content
In Blizzard’s phase plan, the content of Classic Phase 5 reads as follows:

stage 5
Ahn’Qiraj war effort begins.
As the war effort progresses, Ahn’Qiraj raids will be unlocked.
Adjusting loot from dungeons: T0.5 gear from dungeons, relics, changes to loot rates and locations.
Innovations for the PvP area are not planned for phase 5.

The Opening of Ahn’Qiraj
With a view to Phase 5, many Classic players are certainly looking forward to the two new raid challenges Temple of Ahn’Qiraj and Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj. However, before we can enter this, all server communities must first open the beetle paradise. However, this only happens if at least one player from each server (with the help of other Azeroth heroes) masters a long quest line and the fighters of Horde and Alliance simultaneously raise countless supplies for the fight against the silithid.

Both factions must collect the following supplies:

90,000 x Copper Ingots
26,000 x Purple Lotus
80,000 x Thick Leather
17,000 x Spotted Yellowtail
400,000 x Runecloth Bandage
The Alliance must also collect the following supplies:

28,000 x Iron Ingots
24,000 x Thorium Bars
20,000 x Arthas’ Tears
33,000 x Strangletkelp
180,000 x Light Leather
110,000 x Medium Leather
20,000 x Roasted Raptor
14,000 x Rainbow Fin Tuna
800,000 x Linen Bandage
600,000 x Silk Bandage
The Horde is also gathering the following supplies:

22,000 x Tin Ingots
18,000 x Mithril Bar
96,000 x Flower of Peace
19,000 x Firebloom
60,000 x Heavy Leather
60,000 x Resilient Leather
10,000 x Lean Wolf Steak
10,000 x Baked Salmon
250,000 x Wool Bandage
Magicweave Bandage x250,000
If you want to know what exactly awaits you during the long quest line, at the end of which you craft the Scepter of Sandstorms, hit the gong and finally open Ahn’Qiraj for all players on your server, then take a look at the following article:

WoW Classic: The Temple and Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj
As soon as the gong has sounded, Ahn’Qiraj opens and with it the two associated raid instances.

Prepare for Ahn’Qiraj (Nature Resistance and Frost Weapons)
The Temple of Ahn’Qiraj has some peculiarities that you can or even should prepare for. With two bosses (Princess Huhuran and Viscidus), items with nature resistance could prove very useful and even life-saving. Furthermore, you need Viscidus weapons that cause frost damage in order to be able to defeat the villain at all. In the following article, we already told you how to prepare for these and other special features of phase 5:

WoW Classic: Preparing for Phase 5 (Nature Resistance, Frost Weapons and More)
Cenarion Circle Faction: Finally worth the reputation grind
Since April 15, you can already earn reputation with the Cenarion Circle in Silithus – through a few quests, hunting down the local Twilight Cult and summoning elementals at the Wind Stones.

So far, however, this reputation grind has been very time-consuming and not very fruitful in phase 4. With Stage 5, however, your reputation with the Cenarion Circle will play a more important role, while at the same time it will be much easier for you to achieve Exalted status with the druids in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj – comparable to Zul’Gurub and the Zandalar tribe (though not quite so fast).

Cenarion Circle Reputation Merchant recipes
Blizzard recently made it clear that a whole range of nature resistance items that only came into play in the original vanilla WoW with patch 1.11 will not be available with Classic Phase 5 . This includes the Cenarion Circle recipes for craftable plate, cloth, and leather armor pieces with nature resistance.

Here are the Cenarion Circle recipes you can learn with Stage 5:

Rewards for Blacksmithing Masters
Plans: Heavy Obsidian Belt (Blacksmithing 300), Cost: 5 gold, requires Friendly reputation
Plans: Light Obsidian Belt (Blacksmithing 300), Cost: 5 gold, requires Honored reputation

Reputation quests with epic rewards

However, any player who has not mastered any of the above professions should at least consider getting Cenarion Circle reputation to Exalted. New quests come into play with phase 5 or after the opening of Ahn’Qiraj (!), and some of these quests reward you with epic weapons and pieces of equipment that are really good even for regular visitors to Blackwing Lair. The only thing is: In order to fulfill the objectives of said quests, you must have a predetermined reputation level with the circle.

One of these quests is called Champion ‘s Battlegear and will reward you with one of the following items:

Fist of Cenarion
Wrath of Cenarion
earth strike
Without exalted reputation with the circle, none of these items exist. Another quest called Follower’s Battlegear “just” wants Revered reputation and a chunk of Cenarion Insignia from you . Waving as rewards:

Deepstone Bracers
Orb of Earth Tranquility
Rockfury Bracers
Power of the Cenarion
You can find out how to get the badges for the quests in this article: WoW Classic: Earth Strike / Fury Bracers – you have to farm that

You’ll also need reputation with the Cenarion Circle if you’re keen on the three-piece class sets that can be earned in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj. These sets come in three pieces – ring, cloak, and dagger – and when fully worn, come with a special set bonus. With Honored, Revered, and Exalted (and the required items from the ruins) you can each turn in one of the associated quests.

Here are the “AQ20” sets of all classes:

The new Brood Nozdormus faction and tier 2.5 class sets
Fighting your way through the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj will earn you reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu faction . Additional reputation points can be earned by completing quests linked to the faction. Speaking of which, the Brood of Nozdormu quests give you access to a variety of epic gear and weapons. The rewards are often linked to a certain reputation level.

Signet Rings of the Bronze Dragonflight
Through three quest chains (one each for tanks, melee/hunters and casters) you can earn a ring with the Brood of Nozdormu, which can be upgraded multiple times across all reputation levels – similar to the necklace from the Zandalar tribe.

Each of these pieces requires an epic token (see below), reputation (Neutral for boots and shoulders, Friendly for leg and head armor, and Honored for the spawn piece), and a combination of the idols (2 each) and scarabs (of two Variants 5 each), which you can loot from trash opponents or find them in the locked chests in AQ40 (the keys required to open the chests are also available as a drop in the raid). Here are the epic tokens for all tier 2.5 parts and which boss they drop from:

Bindings of the Qiraji of Command – For shoulder guards and boots of the Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Priest sets / drops from Huhuran and Viscidus
Qiraji Bindings of Dominance – For Paladin, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, and Druid sets pauldrons and boots / drops from Huhuran and Viscidus
Vek’lor’s Diadem – For paladin, hunter, rogue, shaman and druid head protection / drops from Emperor Vek’lor
Vek’nilash’s Circlet – For head protection of warriors, mages, warlocks and priests / drops from Emperor Vek’nilash
Ouro’s Intact Hide – For warrior, mage, rogue, and priest set leg armor / drops from Ouro
Great Sandworm Skin – For Paladin, Hunter, Shaman, Warlock, and Druid set leg armor / drops from Ouro
Plate of Bones of the Old God – For Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Paladin and Shaman chest sets / drops from C’Thun
Shell of the Old God – For Mage, Warlock, Druid, and Priest set chest piece / drops from C’Thun
The Imperial Qiraji Weapons
Two other epic tokens can drop from the bosses in the temple:

Imperial Qiraji Insignia
Imperial Qiraji Weapon
If you bring one of the two tokens, each with three elementium ores, to Arygos or Merithra of the Dream in the temple (you can find them both near C’Thun’s Chamber) you can exchange them for epic weapons.

Imperial Qiraji Insignia

Blessed Qiraji Acolyte Staff
Blessed Qiraji Divining Staff
Blessed Qiraji Warhammer
Imperial Qiraji weapons

Blessed Qiraji War Axe
Blessed Qiraji Musket
Blessed Qirajipugio
Blessed Qiraji Shield

The upgrade to the Tier 0.5 set
Dungeon Set 2 – also called T0.5 set – was introduced by Blizzard in vanilla WoW with Patch 1.10. It should offer casual players in particular the opportunity to upgrade their Tier 0 armor from the dungeons and thus get a good alternative to Tier 1 (and depending on the playstyle even for the current BiS gear). The sticking point: You have to get all the parts of your Tier 0 set in advance – of course – and that’s exactly what you can currently do in Classic WoW. Which dungeon boss you get which part of the set, we summarized that for you in the following article:

Dungeon Set 1 “Tier 0” – what drops where?
If you would like to take a look at the 25 steps involved in the long quest line surrounding the Tier 0.5 set, you will find the detailed answer in the following article:

WoW Classic: How to complete Tier 0.5 questline for Dungeon Set 2
Incidentally, in the course of the quest line you summon six special bosses who have their own loot lists. You can find more about this in the following article:

Oils, Relics, Nexus Crystals – what else changes with Phase 5?
Aside from the innovations mentioned so far, Phase 5 brings a whole range of other changes to the WoW live servers (buy now) classic.

You can now purchase the formulas for Superb Wizard Oil and Superb Mana Oil from the Zandalar tribe (provided you have the appropriate reputation and Enchanting skill).
You can now obtain the Recipe: Transmute Elemental Fire recipe from the Thorium Brotherhood with a friendly reputation .
You can now earn the Formula: Two-Handed Weapon – Agility recipe with a friendly reputation at Timbermaw Hold.
Deep Crystals can now be obtained by disenchanting epic items.
Recipe : Elixir of Greater Firepower may drop from some enemies in Searing Gorge.
The update includes adjustments made to dungeon loot back in WoW Patch 1.10. Epic items now drop more frequently, and many new spellcaster DPS items have been added.
More on the subject: This new dungeon loot will drop from July 29th (phase 5) / This dungeon loot will soon drop from other bosses

Several relics are now available.
Original text from patch notes of patch 1.10 on relics:
“There are now relics in the game world. These are class-specific items for druids, paladins and shamans, which are equipped in the character’s ranged weapon slot. Currently there are a handful of these for each class Items that can be found scattered throughout Blackrock Depths, Blackrock Spire, Dire Maul, Scholomance, Stratholme, and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj We hope you enjoy these first few relics and we’ll be adding more items of this type in future patches .”

What is WoW Classic?

is a true recreation of the original WoW as you know it from 2006. All parts of the game – from combat mechanics and talent trees to character models and zones – have been recreated, contributing to the authentic experience.
