WoW: Burning Crusade Classic – Overview of all raid instances

WoW: Burning Crusade Classic is a feast for every PvE lover who likes to tackle varied raid challenges with his guild. There are nine raid instances in total, which will be spread over five phases. 51 baddies are waiting to be challenged by us. From Karazhan to the Sunwell Plateau – here’s an overview of all raid instances from the TBC Classic era.

It is no coincidence that in our nostalgic review of WoW: Burning Crusade we dedicate several of the ten points to the raid challenges of this time. The Outland adventure was a feast for any PvE lover who prefers to mess with nasty bosses. And that’s exactly what should be the case when Burning Crusade lands on the current servers.

There are nine raid instances in total, which will be spread over five phases . Including fan favorites like Karazhan and the Black Temple. 51 baddies are waiting to be challenged by us. Including some of the most iconic opponents in WoW history: Illidan, Kael’Thas, Lady Vashj, Archimonde and Kil’Jaeden. From Karazhan to the Sunwell Plateau – below is an overview of all raid instances of the TBC Classic era.

Raids in Stage 1 of TBC Classic
The first phase of Burning Crusade Classic will be super exciting for every guild and raid leader. Instead of 40 and 20 player raids, you now have to set up and organize 10 and 25 player raids. In addition, you don’t just have to reach level 70. One of the three raid challenges available at the start will also require you to earn access through a lengthy quest line.

Karazhan
Karazhan is the entry level raid of the TBC era. You can find the entrance to the instance in the Deadwind Pass of the “old world”. A total of ten challenges await you in Karazhan, with the theater offering you three different boss fights. There is also the iconic game of chess that you must master if you want to challenge the final boss, Prince Malchezaar. The secret boss, however, is the terror of the night, which you can only summon when you have mastered a longer quest line.

Gruul’s lair
In the 25-player instance Gruul’s Hideout, in addition to the eponymous villain, a fight against High King Raufgar and his crew awaits you. Unlike Karazhan, you don’t need a completed questline to enter the hoard at the north end of the huge chasm in Blade’s Edge Mountains. On the other hand, defeating Gruul is part of the requirement you need to access the Serpent Shrine in Phase 2.

Magtheridon’s Chamber
In Magtheridon’s chamber on the Peninsula, only a few trash groups and the eponymous boss await you – Onyxia’s hoard sends greetings. Unlike Onyxia (or Karazhan), however, you don’t have to complete a questline to enter the chamber. In return, you can expect a fairly crisp boss fight with an add phase at the beginning and a dice mechanism that is essential for defeating Magtheridon. You can only stop the boss’s deadly pressure nova if all of the players’ dice are activated at the same time. However, rolling the dice does damage and you cannot act as a dice clicker again for 90 seconds after rolling the dice, but the nova comes about every 50 seconds. Clear agreements and divisions are the be-all and end-all in this fight.

Raids in Stage 2 of TBC Classic
In the second phase of Burning Crusade Classic, two raid challenges await you that have it all – especially with a view to their end bosses Kael’Thas and Lady Vashj.

The Serpent Shrine
After the two quickies in phase 1, the Serpent Shrine is the first major 25-player raid you’ll enter in the TBC era. A total of six bosses await you in the center of Zangamarsh. However, before you can march through the entrance and take the (caution! deadly!) elevator down, you must first complete a quest line that first takes you to the Slave Pens, where you can obtain the quest The Club from Nar’biss the Heretic Kar’desh obtained . You complete this task by defeating Gruul and the Terror of the Night (Karazhan). This is how you get the Mark of Vashj , which grants you access to the Serpent Shrine.

Fortress of Storms
The second raid of phase 2 also requires you to complete a (long) quest line before you can enter Tempest Keep. However, before you can accept the actual task for the key of storms at Khadgar, you must first master a long quest chain in Shadowmoon Valley, for which you should, among other things, knock out several elite opponents. You will then be sent to the Shattered Halls, Steam Vault, and Arcatraz dungeons to obtain the key. Last but not least, it’s Magtheridon’s turn. The effort is worth it, after all you need to defeat the final boss Kael’thas for the next phase. In addition, in the final fight against Kael’thas, one of the most coveted mounts in Outlanddrop. Oh, and there’s Tier 5 set parts and other great loot, of course.

Raids in Stage 3 of TBC Classic
Also with phase 3 of TBC Classic you can expect two 25-player raid instances. However, if you want to see the inside of number 2, you first have to visit number 1 (and master the raids from phase 2).

The Battle of Mount Hyjal

From phase 3, you can relive one of the most iconic battles in WoW history in the Caverns of Time, namely the battle for Mount Hyjal. The time travel trip is only on the program when you have defeated the two phase 2 final bosses Kael’Thas and Lady Vashj for the Soridormi pre-quest and have taken the respective vial parts from them. In the instance you will encounter five bosses, between which you will always have to defeat several waves of enemies. In the end you’ll have to deal with Archimonde, who keeps throwing you into the air. Most classes survive the fall only by using Tears of the Deity at the right moment.

The Black Temple
Before you can enter Illidan’s fortress in Shadowmoon Valley, you must again master a quest line that starts at the outposts of the Seers or Aldor. This leads you back to the Serpent Shrine and the Keep of Storms, and you must also remove the Temporary Phylactery in the battle for Mount Hyjal Furor Winterfrost. A whopping nine villains are then waiting for you in the Black Temple. Among them Illidan, the perceived boss of the TBC expansion. At the same time, if you’re lucky, one of the few Legendaries of the TBC era awaits you there: the Warglaives of Azzinoth .

Raids in Stage 4 of TBC Classic
The new Phase 4 raid is aimed equally at professionals and casual players, at guilds that have mastered all previous raids, but also at groups that rarely get together 25 players and are now looking forward to the new 10-player challenge.

Zul’Aman

The second troll raid after Zul’Gurub is also intended for 10-player raids and not only has six varied bosses and great loot in its luggage, but also a special challenge: If you defeat all bosses quickly enough, there will be extra loot at the end and the war bear of the Amani . Best of all, you don’t have to complete a pre-quest line to enter Zul’Aman.

Raids in Stage 5 of TBC Classic
Finaaaale! The final phase of TBC Classic pits you against Kil’jaeden and his minions. Before we can enter the raid, however, we must first conquer the island of Quel’Danas, set up a base there and unlock new areas of the last TBC raid via the server-wide daily quest progression.

The Sunwell Plateau
In the Sonnenbrunnen plateau we are dealing with a total of eight bosses, including various so-called “Gear Checks”, which in their non-weakened form could hardly or not at all be defeated at the time. It remains to be seen how difficult the meanies will be in TBC Classic. You’ll be rewarded with some of the best loot from the TBC era, including the legendary bow Thori’dal, Fury of the Stars .
