A few days ago, we had already summarized in a special, which Changes and innovations with the pre-launch phase of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will in all likelihood go live. Now, Youtuber KaghoeGaming reports on a surprising adjustment that is not on our list: With the pre-patch of WotLK Classic, will Blizzard reduce the XP you need for leveling up in Outland?
Kaghoe’s conclusion is therefore quite clear: If you want to level through the TBC content as efficiently as possible, wait for the pre-launch phase of WotLK Classic despite the currently active XP buff. At this point, however, we want to be the spoilsport and throw a detail into the room that was not mentioned in KaghoeGaming’s video.
Is this part of #somechanges?
If we look at all the patch notes of the WotLK era, we don’t find a single change to the level experience in Outland. Even the Wowpedia website has not documented such an adjustment. For the first time, the values were adjusted with patch 4.0.3: “Experience required to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by 20%, which increases leveling rate by 25%.“Another adjustment was made with patch 4.3: “The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%.”
So both changes came into play after patch 3.3.5, which serves as the basis for WotLK Classic. If Blizzard implements such a change with the pre-patch of the upcoming Classic expansion, it will only be due to the #somechanges mindset of the developers. However, nothing has been officially confirmed in this regard so far. So it could also be an adjustment for the currently running beta test. Or it could be a bug that will be fixed at some point. As soon as Blizzard comments on this topic, we will update this message.
