Why you should switch from Warzone to Apex Legends

Tired of all the problems has? Then how about another shooter that can easily keep up with Warzone? We’re talking about , of course. Respawn’s shooter has just launched into a new – Season , the perfect entry point for new players!

Call of Duty is a tough proposition at the moment. There’s good old Warzone, and then there’s the freshly released Black Ops Cold War…. Which one should you play? For Battle Royale players the answer should be relatively clear, they of course go for Warzone, which is also free.

Warzone is definitely one of the best Battle Royale titles, despite some teething problems. But there are alternatives. One Battle Royale shooter in particular currently offers a great mix of great gameplay and lots of customization options: Apex Legends, of course!

Apex Legends turned two years old last week. The developers are also reporting higher player numbers than ever before. And for good reason, as each – Season brings a breath of fresh air in the form of new playable Legends, new weapons, maps, and more! You might think Apex and Warzone are too different, as the settings are too different and Apex focuses more on squads than solo gameplay. But there are good reasons why you should switch to Apex Legends!

Warzone VS Apex

Similar, but different
Both games are free-to-play, have great gunplay, and revolve around team battles. So if you’re looking for a Battle Royale shooter but don’t fancy Fortnite, Warzone and Apex are the way to go. Apex Legends, like Warzone, features a respawn system that allows you to bring back dead team members.

The weapons meta is better
In Warzone, there are some weapons that are over-the-top and therefore played by everyone. In Apex it’s different, because every weapon has its raison d’être. Okay, except maybe Mozambique…. Anyway, the weapon meta in Apex Legends is much better. Also, you can adjust your weapon selection at any time instead of having to wait for your loadout. However, the whole thing runs a bit random at the beginning.

Apex has a ranked mode
For all players who want to give their absolute best and thus climb up in rank, Apex Legends has an extra Ranked mode. Warzone still doesn’t have that, despite persistent pleas from the community. Really a pity.

In Apex Legends you start on Bronze and work your way up to Apex Predator. Since the new – Season , 750 players can boast this achievement. Rank points can be collected in various ways and are really motivating.

Less cheaters
Of course there are cheaters in Apex is exploding with cheaters and Activision is constantly fighting against it. They recently banned 60,000 games in a single day. In Apex it takes a bit longer to kill an enemy than in Warzone, so your chances of survival are also a bit higher in Apex.

Hardly any bugs
Warzone is known to be pretty good at fixing a bug and then putting some new ones back in. Apex Legends does have bugs, but they rarely cause serious problems. are also really quick with patches, especially when players complain on Reddit.

More servers
In Warzone, you have to settle for a single server that the client chooses for you. Apex does not lock your game experience to one server. So if you want to play in a different region, you can do that too.

Air drops are cool!
Parachutes are so out. Why not glide through the air with style and land safely? Apex Legends has no drop damage, so you don’t have to worry about that at all.

Lots of freedom of movement
Movement in Apex is simply insane. Many Legends have a Movement Speed Boost and can jump pretty high. This makes the gameplay super fast. Unfortunately, there are only vehicles on one of the maps.

GB Size
As a final point, there is the game size. By that we don’t mean in terms of content, but in terms of storage space. Warzone eats up over 100GB of your memory. Hardly anyone has that much space? Apex Legends is at 55GB with the latest update, so about half of that.

So then, have we convinced you? Do you want to try out Apex Legends or would you rather stick with Warzone?

What is actually… “Apex Legends?

Within 24 hours, “Apex Legends” became the most-watched game on Twitch – after one week, over 25 million people were already playing it. What is the battle royale shooter about?

What is “Apex Legends” about?

Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.

  • Genre: Battle Royale shooter
  • Game modes: survival battle between a maximum of 20 teams of three.

At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.

To prevent players from hiding all over the map and waiting to automatically be the last one left, the game area shrinks every few minutes. The longer a round lasts, the smaller the area where survivors can move and hide.

Apex Legends refreshes this now classic game formula with some ideas that are unique to the genre: For example, before starting a round, players select one of eight heroes, each of which has two special abilities and facilitates certain play styles.

Bangalore, for example, is the classic soldier who can conceal her position with smoke grenades and call in an artillery strike in an emergency. The heroine Lifeline, on the other hand, can summon a drone to heal teammates – or directly order the delivery of high-value weapons and equipment via aerial drone. This way, all players can find the right hero for their preferred course of action.

How can I play Apex Legends?

Platform: “Apex Legends” is available for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Price: The battle royale shooter is a “Free to Play” title and can basically be played for free on all platforms.

In-game purchases: “Apex Legends” allows the purchase of cosmetic items and new heroes either by means of in-game currency, which can be earned for free in every round, or with real money. The real-money currency “Apex Coins” can be purchased in five different amounts: The smallest possible amount is 1000 Apex Points for around 9.99 euros, while the largest pack with 10,000 Apex Points content costs 99.99 euros.

The developer emphasizes that it is not possible to buy game advantages with the help of real money: You can only use it to customize the appearance of the heroes, it says, or purchase new heroes.

Age rating: “Apex Legends” does not have a youth rating (USK 18).

Which technical terms should you know?

Respawn Beacon: If a player is shot down, the team members who are still alive have the opportunity to bring the fallen comrade back into the game: Each eliminated player leaves behind a so-called Respawn Banner, which can be collected by the players of the own team and handed in at one of 28 Respawn Beacons, certain locations on the map. If this succeeds, the fallen player returns to the game.

Jumpmaster: At the beginning of the game, one of the maximum three players of a team always takes on the role of the jumpmaster. He decides when and where his team enters the game area.

Ping: Using the middle mouse button, players can alert their teammates to interesting locations in the game world or enemies. These pings are a valuable tool for communicating quickly and efficiently within the team.
