Once you reach level 5, you have to make an important decision for your future adventures in Pokémon GO. When choosing a team, you’ll have 3 options: Team Daring (Red), Team Intuition (Yellow), and Team Wisdom (Blue) – we’ll explain when you should choose which team.

Team selection in Pokémon GO
When you reach level 5, Professor Willow will introduce you to his wizards before your first Arena Battle. He wants you to join one of the Arena Battle teams, which will be led by the 3 wizards. Because when you fight an arena match in the future, you will be doing so on behalf of one of these 3 teams. Choose one of these teams carefully, because once you are in a team, you cannot leave or change it! To help you make the right decision, we have collected information about the teams for you here.
Team Daring
Led by Candela, this team focuses especially on training and true strength. If you ally yourself with the Pokémon, you can better emphasize their strengths. The mascot of this team is Lavados! If you like this idea of working with Pokémon, then the red team is the team for you!
Team Intuition
The yellow team is led by Spark and relies especially on trusting your instincts. So if you believe that Pokémon have always had their power within them and that success in battles depends on how much you trust yourself and your abilities, you should choose Team Intuition, with Zapdos as its mascot.
Team Wisdom
Blanche is the leader of the blue team and spends so much time studying as well as training Pokémon. If you are interested in fighting Pokémon battles with sound science and analyzing them calmly, you should choose the blue team – the mascot here is Arktos.

As mentioned above, team selection in Pokémon GO is final and cannot be changed. Therefore, you might want to discuss with your friends which team you want to join so that you don’t have to experience your Pokémon adventures as rivals.
Unofficially, it is suspected that the team mascots mean there is only one of the 3 legendary birds per coach. However, this is still pure speculation and should therefore be treated with caution.
