01.08.2022 – It may sound strange to some and daring to others, but League of Legends can make you smart. After all, they say the same thing about chess. Some would even say that the best LoL players are also the smartest.
But before we get into that, we first need to define what intelligence is. Intelligence is the ability of human beings to think abstractly and rationally and to derive purposeful action from it – at least that’s what Google says. There are 8 types of intelligence: logical-mathematical intelligence, spatial intelligence, musical intelligence, linguistic intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, kinesthetic-physical intelligence, naturalistic intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. The best mobile casinos show that it’s mostly all about fun, but things just work differently in LoL. Let’s take a look at why.
As mentioned earlier, there are 8 types of intelligences, but not all of them are used in League of Legends. 4 traits are involved and correspond to one facet of the game. As we’ll see, the intelligence responsible for them improves as you progress in a certain aspect of the game, making you smarter. Let’s start with logical-mathematical intelligence, that is, the ability to calculate, use logic and solve problems with analysis and reasoning.
In Summoner’s Rift you’ll have to deal with issues such as wave management, when to move on the map, calculating your moves and remembering important timers. These are skills that require a lot of work to improve and develop this intelligence trait.
Second, spatial intelligence is the ability to create mental images, manipulate them, and display them. It is useful for LoL because professional players have to constantly think about possible team compositions with their synergies and possible scenarios, which are almost unlimited given the many unpredictable moves a champion can make.
Third is intrapersonal intelligence, the ability to know yourself and listen to your own needs and feelings. Sometimes the game gets frustrating and you want to give up. But that’s a big mistake, because the best LoL players control their emotions and focus on what’s important, which allows them to bounce back in a game.
This ability is necessary to reach a high level. After all, interpersonal intelligence ensures that you can act and react correctly and adapted with others. In League of Legends you need to understand your partners’ intentions, their pings and calls, and know how to play in synergy, because as a solo player you won’t get to the highest level and therefore limit this intelligence trait.
As we have already established, League of Legends requires several types of intelligence, much like chess. However, we have focused only on the macro game, which involves making game decisions and choosing moves.
However, it is not enough to analyze and understand the macro of the games well. In fact, the macro is less important at the beginning of the game because there are no big decisions to be made. It is the skills that are in demand here. In other words, the ability to know how to use your champion’s abilities efficiently. Each champion in League of Legends is unique and has its own spells.
Some champions are easy to play, such as Garen, Veigar, Tristana, and Annie, which doesn’t require much thought during a microgame. We don’t recommend playing these champions and those without skill shots if you want to improve your concentration and therefore your intelligence. In fact, some champions require a lot of effort, concentration, reflexes and thinking to be effective. We mean Katarina, a fearsome assassin that few players can master correctly.
She is a champion who can teleport multiple times, must place her spells correctly to deal damage, and on top of that is not tank strong and will be killed quickly if the player makes a placement error or misses a combo. To play them correctly, the player must constantly pay attention, be very reactive due to their spell set, and in addition, focus on the macro game mentioned above.
We can also mention champions like Zed, Irelia, Akali and Qyianna, which are among the hard to control champions. So League of Legends is not as easy a game as some parents might imagine. Now we wish everyone good luck with Summoner’s Rift!
