The free Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone is in a bit of a crisis. Even – Season 2 has been postponed. Now the first players are discussing whether a complete reboot could help and MeinMMO wants to know from you – how much?
This is the situation:
- Invisible skins, game crashes, performance problems – CoD: Warzone is not running smoothly for many players at the moment.
- The new – Season 2 was therefore already postponed
- Now there are first discussions about whether the Battle Royale would possibly help a complete reboot
Restart of the Warzone – Once everything new, please?
The CoD: Warzone will soon celebrate its second birthday – in March 2022. A lot has happened since release:
- First map “Verdansk” takes place in the current time and will be expanded more and more
- Release of Cold War brings 30 new weapons into the game, with different stats than the previous weapons
- Rebirth Island comes as a new map to Warzone
- A few months later comes “Verdansk ’84” – polished version of the old map
- CoD: Vanguard throws at release again nearly 30 new weapons into play – this time with 10 essays
- The Pacific island “Caldera” replaces Verdansk
- With each – Season more and more weapons come to the Battle Royale – at least 2 firearms
- Each new title also brings new operators and cosmetics to Warzone
Accordingly, Warzone is currently packed with weapons and cosmetics from several CoD parts. The weapons from the different CoD games also bring different characteristics to the game, which makes balancing the different generations more difficult.
However, this makes the selection of guns and cosmetics gigantic.
Weapon selection is more or less limited by recoil – if a weapon is too difficult to play, it’s usually not popular either. But many weapons are easy to play and can keep up.
In addition there are countless skins for weapons and operators and again hundreds of small cosmetics like talismans, stickers and business cards.
Operators from 3 CoD generations fight each other on Caldera.
On reddit, some players are now discussing whether a “restart” for Warzone would make sense (via reddit). Delete all weapons and content, make everything new once and in addition do without the annual content of the Premium CoDs.
Some feel that the annual integration of new CoD content every time leads to the Battle Royale getting into a bad state.
After the integration of Cold War, there were massive issues with weapon balance – for months. After the integration of Vanguard, it’s currently not so much the weapon balance, but the many bugs in the game that cause frustration.
However, a restart would also mean that a lot of cosmetic content purchased with real money would disappear from the game, as well as earned content from previous Battle Passes. In addition, the most beloved weapons and operators would possibly be erased.
What are your thoughts on a Warzone reboot?
Do you guys have any cool ideas on how Warzone could evolve in terms of content strategy? Is the Battle Royale going great for you and do you have few reasons to complain?
We would be happy to read your further comments on the topic and discuss it with you on MeinMMO.
