Double Barrel Shotgun

The Double Barrel Shotgun is a shotgun in Fortnite Battle Royale. It is available in Epic and Legendary variants. It uses Shells ‘n’ Slugs. The shotgun yields very high damage at close range, but has the drawback of a large spread, fast reload time, and very low range. The Double Barrel Shotgun was introduced in Patch 5.20 and vaulted in Patch 7.00, because filled a similar role to the Epic and Legendary Pump Shotgun and to reduce the number of shotguns in the loot pool. The Double Barrel Shotgun made an appearance for 24 hours during the 14 Days of Summer event on July 5th after the unvaulting of the Bottle Rockets, and then being unvaulted permanently in Patch 10.00 Content Update, but was only available in Tilted Town. With the removal of Tilted Town in the Batman Update, the Double Barrel Shotgun has been added back to the vault. It has a 1.3x headshot multiplier, a reload time of over 2.5 seconds, and a 2-second cooldown timer when switching to other shotguns.

The Double Barrel Shotgun has been unvaulted once again for 24 hours on December 18, 2019 for the Winterfest event. It was the first weapon to be unvaulted for the Winterfest event.

Strategy

• It is best to use this shotgun at close quarters, where you can fire two shots at your opponent, hopefully eliminating them.
• When using the Double Barrel Shotgun, try to get close to your target. Don’t use this gun as a short-medium range weapon, as the damage dropoff is significant.
• Try to aim for the head. This maximizes your chances of getting the elimination.
• If you are unable to eliminate the enemy in 2 shots you should build some walls between you and your enemy, then build above them. Reload and shoot them.

Weapons and their rarity

You can fill five inventory slots with weapons and all sorts of other items, such as potions or bandages. The guns are available in different colors, which represent their rarity. The rarer the weapon, the more powerful it is:

• Gray = common
• Green = uncommon
• Blue = rare
• Purple = epic
• Gold = legendary
• Yellow = mythical

It should be mentioned that some special weapons cannot be found in every rarity level.

How does Fortnite work?

“Fortnite: Battle Royale” comes in a variety of game modes. Players can either compete alone, in pairs or in teams of four. The teams are formed either from known players or randomly from strangers. Team members can exchange information and discuss strategies via voice chat.

The gameplay is the same for all modes: At the beginning, all online players are in a virtual waiting room until they are randomly assigned to a game. A round starts with 100 opponents landing on a deserted island. The goal is to beat the other players and to be the last to survive – if you play as a team, you all win together. Opponents are not shown on the overview map after landing on the island. The player must therefore always be on the lookout for attacks. To survive, raw materials and equipment must be collected. Building materials such as wood or stone are obtained with a pickaxe. With the help of these raw materials, protective walls and entire forts can be built to protect against enemy attacks. Players can also overcome cliffs or other obstacles by building stairs and bridges themselves. Weapons and health kits are hidden in crates and piñatas. Good equipment increases the chances of surviving against an opponent. Searching, hiding and building are important parts of the game.
