The Deathbringer is a minigun from Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. In multiplayer you can get it through supplies, in Survival it appears as a power-up on Five, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Dead Ops Arcade and Moon, and in Black Ops II it’s a launch series. In the Workuta mission, you can use it as a normal weapon. In the game mode Sniper, it is possible for the Deathbringer to be one of the random weapons. In Black Ops III it makes its debut on the zombie map The Giant.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Campaign
The Deathbringer appears in the Workuta mission during the Iron Fist and Rise from Darkness steps, where you use it to break through the resistance of Russian prison guards.
Against guards with protective armor, the weapon is especially effective because you only need a few shots to the body. The Deathbringer has 999 rounds, so it’s almost impossible to run out of ammo. Unlike its multiplayer counterpart, the Deathbringer uses the space of a normal weapon in the campaign.
Multiplayer
The Deathbringer, like the Widowmaker, can only be obtained through supplies and remains in the player’s inventory until the match is over. It becomes active as soon as you fire the first shot.
The Deathbringer has a maximum of 499 rounds in the magazine and behaves like the version from the campaign. It takes 0.25 seconds for the barrel to start spinning, but you can compensate for that by keeping the aim button pressed the whole time to spin the machine. The player’s movement with it will be slower than with a normal primary weapon, and you can’t lie down either. When shooting, you can still sprint to be at least a bit faster than with the normal minigun. If you are killed while you have the Deathbringer, it disappears and it is not possible to get it back.
The Deathbringer has very little recoil and incredibly high damage (two shots to the lower body or one to the head is a kill). The rate of fire is high and you don’t need to reload. Even from a long distance you can give continuous fire and the recoil doesn’t change. These statistics make the Deathbringer ideal for fighting enemies from further away.
If you use any other weapon or piece of equipment, your character puts the Deathbringer away and you lose it permanently. In the sniper game mode, the weapon has infinite ammo.
The Deathbringer seems invincible in the normal game modes, while it loses a bit of effectiveness in the hardcore game modes, because even almost any other weapon kills in about two shots, and the time it takes to turn the barrel can be a death sentence in firefights. Additionally, the crosshairs are gone, which only makes aiming with this heavy weapon more cumbersome.
Against enemy air support, especially the attack helicopter, the Deathbringer is optimal because it does a lot of damage and can do some damage. If you want, you can also use it to fire at supply helicopters, helicopter gunships and gunships.
Survival
The Deathbringer appears on the Five, Ascension, Dead Ops Arcade, Call of the Dead and Moon zombie maps as a power-up. You can recognize it by a three-dimensional icon of the rapid fire attachment. It’s easy to distinguish from the other power-ups because it glows blue, not green. The Deathbringer stays for 30 seconds with unlimited ammo and if you fire continuously, it doesn’t affect the time you have it. Unlike in multiplayer, however, you won’t be slowed down if you aim all the time to spin the drum. The Deathbringer does great damage to zombies in early and mid rounds, as well as the Pentagon Thief, who can steal the weapon. However, the weapon gets worse in very high rounds (40+). When using the Deathbringer you can’t buy another weapon or revive a teammate, also punching the weapon is not possible. The player can still buy up doors, repair windows, remove debris or knife. Once the time runs out, the icon starts flashing. When the power-up appears, only the player who collects it gets it, the others don’t get any of it unless you have completed the Easter Eggs on Moon or Ascension.
The Deathbringer also appears in Dead Ops Arcade as a power-up. When the player picks it up, he can use it for a few seconds until you run out of ammo. A certain bonus makes it possible for you to permanently replace your M60 with the Deathbringer. If you complete the Easter Egg on Ascension, all players get the Deathbringer for a full 90 seconds. The same is true for Moon. If you don’t complete the Easter Egg from Call of the Dead and finish off George A. Romero, he drops a Deathbringer, otherwise you get the miracle weapon DG-2. It takes about three seconds to get the Deathbringer out, a time in which the player is vulnerable.
The Death Bringer does not appear in Kino der Toten, Shangri-La, or the revived maps from Call of Duty: World at War.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Campaign
The Deathbringer is available to the player in the class editor before missions if you have completed at least 5 tasks in Decision Day.
It has 999 rounds in the magazine. You can only refill the ammo at ammo boxes. Furthermore, you can now unlock the version from Black Ops, which looks like in the predecessor, but is only called “Minigun”.
Unlike the minigun, the Deathbringer lets you sprint when you press the button. Neither weapon has a sight, but the Deathbringer zooms in a bit when you press the aiming button (which also makes the barrel rotate).
Multiplayer
Unlike Black Ops, the Deathbringer is now a real kill and can’t just be obtained at the supply crate, plus it’s not gone when you die, but only when you’ve used up all your ammo. You need a launch score of 850, and the Deathbringer can be reactivated after you die or deactivated while you’re using it, as long as you still have ammo. The rate of fire has been carried over from the first game. However, with only 200 rounds, it has less ammo than in Black Ops. Meanwhile, players can sprint with it by pressing the button, but laying down is still not possible. In game modes that are turn-based, such as Domination, it’s impossible to use the Deathbringer in the second round if you’ve already landed at least one kill in the first. Shooting bullets still doesn’t count, only a kill does.
Survival fight
You can get the Deathbringer on the map Mob of The Dead for 950 points at the Mystery Crate. It has 150 rounds in the magazine and two spare magazines. You can now also punch it, which turns it into a meat grinder. The Meat Grinder has a magazine capacity of 550 rounds, but only has one spare magazine. It also reloads faster and does more damage, which is especially helpful in the higher rounds.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III
Survival Combat
The Deathbringer was not added until a later patch. It first came on The Giant, but was then added to every other zombie map. Just like in Black Ops, he appears as a blue PowerUps. Also, he has unlimited ammo and stays for 30 seconds. In addition, he can be dropped by the gum technique gimmick. When the Deathbringer is equipped, movement and sprint speed/duration is restricted. The player cannot perform any actions with the action button while using it. When the time runs out, the icon flashes. The damage is considerably high in the first rounds but decreases in the higher rounds. Like all other powerups, the Deathbringer spawns randomly.

Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
