Weapons Call of Duty-Strela-3

The Strela-3 (Russian: Стрела-3; literally Arrow-3) is a launcher from : Black Ops that was originally also supposed to appear in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Similar to the Stinger, it can only be fired at vehicles and costs 2000 CoD Points.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Campaign

The Strela-3 is used by Hudson on Rebirth Island to destroy the enemy helicopters. Mason uses the Strela on the Wii during the Redemption mission to take the helicopters out of the sky while standing on the deck of the ship. This only happens on the Wii, because in all other versions you use Valkyrie missiles.

Multiplayer

The Strela-3 can be found in the secondary under the rocket launchers and is unlocked at level 30. You can only shoot at vehicles with it and it has two missiles available. In principle, it works just like the Stinger from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The Strela works great with Geist Pro, since you can shoot an attack helicopter, helicopter gunner or gunship with the missile to trigger the deflection missiles. After that, you can use the second missile to take out the vehicle completely. Through Geist Pro, you won’t be noticed by the helicopter in the process.

The Strela-3 has an incredibly long range and can track targets even when they have long since shaken off the missile, unlike the M72 LAW, which is unlocked earlier.

With Raider Pro, the player gets a third missile at the beginning, making you the perfect defense against enemy aircraft. However, you don’t get ammo for the Strela when picking up backpacks. The player is also visible to enemy vehicles, so targeting a helicopter gunner or similar is not recommended.

Info

  • Before you pick up the Strela-3, you can only see the scope of the Valkyrie missiles, but after that the becomes the Strela.
  • The Strela-3 is exactly like the Stinger from the Modern Warfare series in terms of ammunition and also behavior. Just like the Stinger, it is possible to miss an aircraft, after which the missile will return to the ground and sometimes make a kill, although this is rare.
  • The missiles that come out of the Strela are similar to those from the LAW.
  • Valkyrie missiles are fired from a modified Strela launcher, to which some sort of targeting module has been attached.
  • Missiles from the Strela can target Valkyrie missiles and knock them out of the sky.
  • If a target evades, the missile usually flies a circle and then hits the desired helicopter after all.
  • Although this should normally be impossible, it is quite the case that you can make kills with the Strela. You have to shoot at a plane that is diving behind a building, whereupon the missile will hit the house. If there is a player there, he dies.
  • The reloading sound is similar to that of the LAW.
  • The Strela is the only rocket launcher in Black Ops that does not appear in any zombie mode. The LAW and the grenade launcher are available at the mystery crate, and the RPG makes an appearance in Dead Ops Arcade. This is because the Strela, with its automatic targeting system, would be useless against the zombies.
  • The small delay between firing and reloading when you go into the sights can be bypassed by pressing the reload button, which makes reloading faster overall. The same technique can be used with the LAW.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
