Campaign

The Stoner can be seen at the beginning of the Redemption mission under the crashed helicopter, where it is equipped with a magazine extension and reflex sight, as well as full ammo. Sometimes they also drop dead comrades. When immersed in the underwater base, Sergeant Drew uses the gun and you can take it from him by killing him. Sometimes the gun is very useful, but it has the least available ammo of all the in the game, as it is the rarest, in the second part of the mission it doesn’t exist at all. Redemption is the only mission in which the Stoner appears.

Multiplayer

The Stoner 63 is a secret weapon and you have to buy all the other light machine guns first, which means spending a total of 6000 CoD Points. It has a high rate of fire and bypassable recoil, but its magazine of just 30 rounds is small, similar to that of the HK21, which is why most players use a magazine extender or looter. Thanks to the high damage and high rate of fire, it kills faster than most weapons in Black Ops (along with the ASP and Python, the Scorpion in close quarters and Akimbo weapons), especially at longer distances. Thanks to these attributes, the weapon does perfectly at short to medium range and also works great in ranged combat when fired in volleys. In hardcore game modes, the Stoner kills with one hit at any distance.

The Stoner 63 isn’t so great in close quarters though, as its hip-fire accuracy leaves something to be desired. However, this can be compensated for with the Calm Hand extra. Unlike the other light machine guns, the Stoner takes aim in a quarter of a second, just like the assault rifles and some submachine guns. In the class editor, the character holds the weapon as if it were an assault rifle. Because of the short time to go on target, the small magazine, the quick reload without nimbleness, and the rate of fire, it is treated more like an assault rifle.

Info

  • The icon to pick up the gun shows an unfolded bipod.
  • Rear sight and front sight are set to 300 meters.
  • The picture in the class editor is wrong, because the grip is missing there.
  • The Stoner has the same reloading noise as the RPK.
  • The ACOG sight does not seem to affect recoil as much as the other weapons.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
