Call of Duty: Black Ops

Campaign

The Spectre can be found in one of the weapon stashes in Mission Numbers. In the intro scene you can also see a picture of the Spectre, along with one of the Kiparis.

Multiplayer

The Spectre is unlocked at level 41, making it the penultimate submachine gun. Due to the low recoil and open sights, the Spectre can be used well in close quarters, but also at longer distances. The weapon is also good at firing from the hip, furthermore it has a large magazine (30 rounds or 45 with the magazine extension, just like the MP5K and the AK-74u) and a stable rate of fire.

Thanks to the low recoil, it is actually better than the other submachine guns that do 20-30 damage, because those usually have a smaller magazine or higher recoil. With a silencer, you can also be super stealthy. With the rapid fire attachment, you deal more damage, while the recoil doesn’t increase much. But with this attachment, it’s best to use scavengers. The Spectre’s recoil kicks upwards to the right, so it’s easy to compensate.

When using Warlord, the best combination is rapid fire and a grip, because then you have maximum damage with minimum recoil. This allows you to treat the Spectre like an assault rifle, but with more accurate hip fire and faster movement. Still, you should avoid firefights against other assault rifles at further distances, because the Spectre usually gets the short end of the stick there. As always, looter is a useful extra when using rapid fire, but lightweight for moving is also profitable. Because of the low firepower through objects, you can try Steeled.

Since there is already a grip on the weapon, you get an extra grip when you use this attachment. This reduces recoil, as a normal grip would, but the extra grip on the Spectre is placed at the end of the sight, making the already difficult rear sight even more confusing.

The submachine gun that is most similar to the Spectre is probably the MPL. The MPL has some advantages, notable among them are the larger magazine and faster reload times. Probably the biggest advantage of all is that you can attach dual magazines to the MPL. This means you start with 160 rounds and can do without looters, allowing the player to pick another Extra 1 of their choice. The MPL is generally seen more often in multiplayer than the Spectre because it unlocks earlier. The advantages of the Spectre are definitely lower recoil and more open sights.

Survival

This weapon appears in Cinema of the Dead, Five, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, Moon and all maps carried over from Call of Duty: World at War. It is the only mascine gun that can be pulled on the mysterious box. It doesn’t do that much damage to zombies unless you aim for the head, and ammo is rather sparse. To score points, however, the Spectre is especially good in later rounds because it takes multiple magazines to take down just a few zombies. Since the weapon has almost no recoil, shooting at heads is not the biggest problem.

If you punch the Spectre, the new name is “Phantom”, then it has a reflex sight with random crosshairs, higher damage, a larger magazine and more remaining ammo. The upgraded version is still weak and mostly doesn’t like to be punched, but the low recoil and high rate of fire remains. The Spectre is a good sidearm for heavier machine guns, but it still runs out of ammo quickly.

Info

  • As with the other submachine guns, rapid fire has no effect on the Wii.
  • This is the only submachine gun you can get at the mystery box. The others (MP5K, AK-74u, PM-63, MP40 and MPL) can all be bought at the wall.
  • On the side of the gun, next to the serial number, is the phrase “SPECTRE made in Italy PATENTED”.
  • The serial number is JAB-0040233.
  • The name of the punched version is a reference to the movie James Bond: Golden Eye.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
