The MTAR is an assault rifle from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Campaign
The MTAR is used by David Mason and the ISI in the Fallen Angel mission with a millimeter scanner. DeFalco also uses it in Karma when you catch up with him while trying to rescue Chloe Lynch. In the same mission, you can find the weapon with different attachments on mercenaries.
Multiplayer
The MTAR is the first assault rifle you unlock, namely at level 4, and has medium damage because it takes about three hits to take out an enemy from any distance, even if some of them are headshots. At further range, you sometimes have to apply five hits, four hits if one goes to the head. It has average recoil and undoubtedly clear front and rear sights, making the MTAR a versatile weapon that requires almost no attachments.
It is an interesting fact that among the fully automatic assault rifles, the MTAR has the fastest firing time, however, it shares this place with the AN-94 when it comes to the first two bullets. Therefore, the MTAR is a good mid-range weapon created for players who want to be mobile at a distance. Both the fast magazine and the magazine extension are good attachments, because with the MTAR you often play aggressively and the reload time is already long. A laser marker makes it easier to shoot from the hip in close combat, while the quick-draw grip lets you target faster.
With the January 26, 2013 patch, the kill range with three bullets from the MTAR was increased to 16.5 meters. This makes the range even greater than that of the MSMC, since the two also have the same rate of fire, the replacement for the submachine gun has been found since January 26.
Fight for survival
The MTAR can be purchased at the mystery box for 950 points. It has 30 bullets in the magazine and 240 in reserve, plus it has good damage, especially in headshots, which persists into high rounds. The recoil mostly knocks the gun to the left and goes circular, so it’s best to fire in bursts to control it.
If you punch the MTAR, it gets reflex sights, does more damage, and the bullets scatter less when fired, making it more useful at range. Like many of the future weapons, it can be punched several times, which gives it different attachments. Among them are the millimeter scanner, target finder, EOTech sight and the grenade launcher.
Info
- In Survival, Marlton calls the weapon the “X95L” and mentions that it works with 5.56 ammo and has a 380mm barrel.
- The MTAR has an unusable flashlight and sling on the right side of the barrel, like many other weapons in the game.
- If you punch the MTAR until it has the EOTech sight, a glitch usually happens where the gun has the Pack-a-Punch camouflage but the sight does not.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
