The Mauser C96 is the starter pistol in the Origins survival map from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which you can get with the Apocalypse DLC. According to a picture, it was invented by Dr. Ludvig Maxis on January 5, 1915.

The Mauser is quite similar to the M1911, it fires semi-automatically, has eight bullets in the magazine, and does quite little damage even in the first few rounds. If you punch the Mauser, you get the Bummhilda. This has laser beams similar to the Ray Cannon Mark II, has 50 bullets in the magazine, and gets a sight.
