The KSG 12 is an American shotgun from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Multiplayer
The KSG 12 is unlocked in multiplayer at level 4. It does high damage and has high capacity, but must be reloaded briefly after each shot. It has the second highest damage per round of all the shotguns (with the SPAS-12 and Model 1887), but at 60 RPM it shoots slower than the two guns just mentioned. This is offset by the KSG’s large magazine, because like the Striker, it has 12 rounds in the magazine. The damage you can still do with the weapon even at the limit of its range is so high that you can kill with one hit from a long distance, but this happens rather rarely because of the strong dispersion of the bullets. In close combat, however, the KSG is even more likely to score a one-hit kill than any other shotgun. Additionally, you hardly ever run out of ammo, not only do you have a huge magazine at your disposal, but you also have so much spare ammo that you probably won’t use it up in a lifetime, even if you shoot a lot.
With the January 25 update (February 3 for Playstation 3), the KSG 12 and USAS 12 have been improved to increase their effectiveness. The KSG now shoots 9 small rounds instead of only 6 before, giving it a 50% damage increase. Before the patch, you already had to use the magazine extension for this, now it works without it.
Interestingly, the grip extends the reload animation and adds a new sound for the cartridge to exit while firing the KSG 12.
Survival
The KSG 12 is available in survival mode starting at level 26 and costs $2000. The slow rate of fire is a disadvantage when you have to attack multiple targets, but the damage ensures that you can actually take out all enemies with 2 or 3 cartridges. In survival combat, however, the KSG has another unique feature – it paralyzes enemies for about a second.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Campaign
The KSG appears in the Karma mission in the security guard’s armory. After completing the Ulysses mission, you can choose the KSG as your primary weapon before starting each mission.
Multiplayer
The KSG is unlocked at level 34, making it the third available shotgun in multiplayer. It is the only shotgun in the game that uses projectile ammunition rather than regular buckshot, making its range much longer than that of regular shotguns. It can kill even at medium range with two shots. However, since only one bullet shoots out of the barrel at a time, it is harder to hit enemies. That’s why you should always aim and not fire from the hip. Also, firing after crouching or lying down is not advisable, because the shot loses accuracy. At the end of its range, the KSG can still kill with one shot if it is a headshot, so it is possible to “snipe” an opponent from an amazing distance.
The long barrel is the perfect attachment for the KSG because it increases the range, even more, positively changing the performance of the weapon. The laser marker also has its uses, because sometimes you have to shoot from the hip if you can’t make it into the sights in a tight situation. The silencer reduces range and makes one-hit kills less likely, but with it, it’s possible to stealthily blast enemies into nirvana from still great ranges. The fast magazine doubles the speed of reloading, as two rounds are always inserted into the weapon instead of just one, but since the KSG has a magazine of 14 rounds and a slow rate of fire, you rarely need to reload anyway. The millimeter scanner is probably the best attachment on maps with a thin cover because the KSG cuts through material like a warm knife through butter.
The KSG is the fourth weapon in the gun game, where it has a quick-draw grip.
Survival
In Origins, the KSG can be obtained for 950 points at the mysterious crate when the generator nearby has been activated. As in multiplayer, the gun shoots with projectile ammunition rather than normal shotgun shells, which of course means that only one bullet comes flying out of the barrel, which also does a lot more damage. Because of these bullets, the KSG does a lot of damage even in late rounds and takes away some undead’s undead life if you aim for the head. Additionally, with a total of 70 rounds, you have an insane amount of ammo for a shotgun.
Putting the KSG in the Pack-a-Punch machine gives you the “fog maker”, with double ammo capacity (28 bullets in the magazine, 112 in reserve), the ability to reload two rounds at a time, increased damage, and reflex sights. You can now kill with one shot until round 30, and even until round 32 if you buy double-fire malt beer, making the Fog Maker one of the best weapons in the survival fight, which is not a miracle weapon.
Info
Modern Warfare 3
- The KSG has the largest magazine capacity of any shotgun in the Modern Warfare series, sharing this first place with the Striker.
- Although it is described everywhere as a pump-action shotgun, in survival combat it is suddenly considered a double-barreled shotgun.
- The KSG 12 can cancel its pump animation and still have ammo in the magazine, just like the W1200 from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
- A KSG 12 with the gold camouflage also shoots gold shells, you can also see this on the Model 1887.
- The KSG 12 already has a foregrip, even if you don’t select the attachment of the same name. You can see that when you change the weapon.
Black Ops II
- There seems to be a diamond under the rear sight. This is best seen when you take aim.
- The KSG from Black Ops II is the first shotgun in Call of Duty history to use the special bullet ammo. In the campaign, it still shoots with normal shotgun shells.
- When reloading, the shells that you slide in are green, but the shells that fly out are red.
- With 200 damage per shot, the KSG is the most dangerous weapon in Call of Duty’s multiplayer history.
- The KSG is the first shotgun that had a headshot multiplier. Meanwhile, it’s completely normal in Call of Duty: Ghosts if you use certain attachments.
- The Fog Maker is one of the best-punched weapons in Survival, beating Porter’s X2 Ray Cannon (punched Ray Cannon) and the Voice of Justice (punched Executioner), among others, because it kills with every hit until round 30, no matter what part of the body you hit.
- The Nebula Maker also has the second-highest magazine capacity of any shotgun ever in Call of Duty, with 28 bullets. Only the AA-12 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance had a larger magazine, with 32 bullets.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
