Weapons Call of Duty-KS-23

The KS-23 is a pump-action shotgun from , used solely in the campaign alone. It is unusable in multiplayer and in survival combat.

: Black Ops

Campaign

The KS-23 is first seen in the hands of Cuban soldiers during the Operation 40 mission, as they try to defend Fidel Castro’s compound. The player can pick up the weapon from any soldier who has used it.

It has a powerful range and is extremely brutal, because it still kills from a certain distance with one shot, no matter what part of the body you hit (even feet). After that, you’ll see it again in Workuta, after Sergei opens a cabinet and immediately unpacks a whole truckload of shotguns. In this mission, a harpoon is attached to the gun to take down a Russian helicopter from the sky. In Crash Site, the KS-23 serves as Mason’s secondary weapon and can be used to take down Viet Cong and Spetsnaz. When Mason and Reznov enter Steiner’s lab in the Rebirth mission, the weapon can be seen again. A guard patrolling the corridors has it with him.

Info

  • The KS-23 is one of the two shotguns that only appear in the single-player of Black Ops, the other being the Model 1887.
  • In the uncensored version, the KS-23 cuts off body parts with ease.
  • The serial number of the weapon is FS259.
  • The KS-23 has the same fire sound as the SPAS-12 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the same reload animation as the W1200 and the Stakeout.
  • Originally, the KS-23 was supposed to appear in multiplayer as well and you can even find a file called ks23_mp in the game files, but this idea was discarded during the development phase.
  • When you shoot at a normal or a police car, it explodes with one shot.
  • In the Wii version, the icon for picking up the KS-23 looks exactly like that of the Stakeout.
  • Console commands allow you to have two harpoons in your hand and no shotgun at all, which also eliminates the reload animation.
  • The KS-23 should even be in survival combat, as you can find two files called ks23_zm and ks23_upgraded_zm.
  • When one cartridge is inserted, the player seems to have two in hand.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
