Modern Warfare 2

In the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, the FAMAS plays a minor role, as it is one of the rarer . It is mostly used by Russian ultranationalists in the later levels. In the player’s hands, its ability to take out individual enemies quickly and accurately is an asset in ranged combat, but in dangerous close combat situations, fully automatic weapons are generally preferable.
In online multiplayer, the FAMAS is one of only three available weapons with three-shot automatics (along with the M16 and the M93 Raffica, which is a secondary weapon) and is available from level one in a standard class.

It has long range and is very accurate, as the forced delay between triple shots gives the recoil enough time to completely decay. Damage is 40-30 points, so a triple shot is not enough to kill an enemy only at very long ranges. With the extra firepower, the damage increases to the point that a triple shot is deadly at any distance, and in close combat as few as 2 out of 3 bullets will kill an enemy, which increases the flexibility of the weapon.

Compared to the M16, it differs in slightly slower reloading, a slightly longer weapon change delay and slightly longer range.

The FAMAS accepts the same attachments as most other assault rifles: a grenade launcher, red dot sight, silencer , ACOG sight , full metal jacket bullets, underbarrel shotgun, holographic sight, heartbeat sensor, thermal sight and extended magazines are available.

Once again, the Famas is mainly found in later levels, but this time it is much more common, as many Spetznaz and CIA soldiers use it. In “Redemption” it is also Mason’s starting weapon.
In online multiplayer, it is completely different from its Modern Warfare 2 counterpart. It is now one of two assault rifles with an increased rate of fire (937.5 bullets per minute, the same as the AUG) and inflicts 35-25 points of damage per bullet. With this, like the 40-30 damage point assault rifles (AK-47, Commando and Galil , it kills with 3 bullets at close range and with 4 bullets at long range, but is usually at an advantage over them due to its higher rate of fire. The rather high recoil effect of continuous fire makes firing in controlled bursts at longer ranges necessary, but 2 short bursts of fire will effectively and reliably take out opponents at any range, provided the shooter has good aim. In close combat, on the other hand, the Famas can be fired fully automatically without any problem, and this can also win numerous battles, as the weapon can often kill faster even compared to submachine guns. Another advantage of the Famas is that it can of course use all the attachments for assault rifles, although the usefulness of the scopes is questionable due to the standard sights, which are acceptable without any problems, and the shotgun and flamethrower attachments are also rarely used due to the weapon’s good close combat capabilities.

All in all, these features make the Famas an extremely powerful and versatile weapon that can easily hold its own with most MPs in close combat and is equally valuable for engaging enemies at a distance. Even compared to other assault rifles, the Famas is superior in most cases due to its higher rate of fire and non-significant damage reduction, as long as you don’t play in hardcore mode, where the slower assault rifles perform better.

Modern Warfare 3

In the trailer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 you can see a soldier of the GIGN holding a FAMAS, therefore you can conclude that there was a FAMAS in the beta version.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
