Call of Duty: Black Ops

Campaign

The Commando is used by Alex Mason, Frank Woods and other members of the SOG in various missions, the first being in The Defector with a grenade launcher. With the exception of SOG, it is the starter weapon in all missions set in Vietnam. Allied soldiers drop it when they die, usually with a double magazine or without attachments. Once you attack the Vietnamese city in the Victor Charlie mission, you get a Commando with a grenade launcher. In the PC version it has tiger camouflage. The last time it appears in Crash Site is with an ACOG visor.

Multiplayer

The Commando is unlocked at level 44. It has the same stats as the AK-47 in terms of damage, but you take it out faster, it reloads faster, and it has a clearer sight, which means you can skip attachments like the red dot sight or the reflex sight. The recoil of the weapon is low, but continuous fire from a certain distance warps it badly, which you can compensate for with volley shots, as with all assault rifles. Overall, the Commando is a strong weapon with a short reload time, clear sights, fast extraction, high damage, and controllable recoil.

Survival Combat

The Commando is available for 950 points at the mystery crate and is quite useful in conjunction with Speed Cola, thanks to its great strength and accuracy. However, its rather fast rate of fire consumes a lot of ammo, so double-fire malt beer is not a good choice.

When you punch the Commando, it’s called a robber. It gets 40 bullets in the magazine, a double magazine, more damage (a headshot kills instantly until round 12) and more spare ammo.

The Commando could be seen in a trailer that showed what went on behind the scenes of the development. However, it is not included in the final version of the game. The icon for picking up the weapon still exists in the game files.

Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified

The Commando also appears in Declassified under the name “Carbine”. It has kept its fire sound and stats from the first part and is therefore identical apart from the name.

Info

  • The Commando has the same sights as the M16.
  • A sling has been wrapped around the Commando for carry, but if you kill someone with the weapon, you won’t see a sling on the image on the screen.
  • In the trailer for Berlin Wall, two soldiers are shown with Commandos that have a magazine extender andhave a flamethrower, which is not possible in the game.

  • When you put camouflage on the Commando, it appears much more worn than on the other assault rifles, because it crumbles and is smudged. The best way to see this is with red.
  • With a flamethrower, the reload animation changes slightly.
  • In the beta version of Black Ops, the reload animation was even slower.
  • The Commando’s sling was also originally intended to be camouflaged, which you can see in a multiplayer trailer with the Yukon and Forest camouflages.
  • The masterkey on the Commando scatters significantly more when you move, which is unique. It also has less ammo like the other assault rifles, also an exception.
  • When looking at a Commando with Berlin camouflage from a third-person view, one side of the weapon has the proper camouflage, while the other side is a mix of forest and flora.
  • The Commando is Frank Woods’ favorite weapon in Black Ops. Mason also uses it a few times.
  • In the main multiplayer menu, you can see two soldiers in the background, both carrying Commandos. The left soldier has an ACOG sight, while the right soldier has a grip and rails on the weapon.
  • Nikolai uses a Commando in the trailer for Shangri-La, and since it has a double magazine there, he must have punched it.
  • In The Defector, cheats allow you to view the soldiers in the Huey, all of whom carry Commandos with every single attachment on them. These Commandos can’t be used because the soldiers are part of the model from the helicopter and thus not solid objects.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
