The Combat Knife is a melee weapon from Call of Duty: Black Ops II that made small appearances in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Multiplayer

The Combat Knife is a brand new knife in Black Ops II, it becomes available when the player removes a primary or secondary weapon, which is then replaced in-game by the Combat Knife. Additionally, you can use the Combat Knife and the Mission Shield, which even lets you keep your other weapon (if you had one). This means the combat knife does not take any of the 10 distribution points in the class editor.

Compared to the normal knife, the combat knife allows you to stab faster and the blade is wavy. It is held in the right hand, not like the standard knife, which is unwrapped with the left. The player also doesn’t make a sound when they stab. Last but not least, you get a 50% bonus on your sprint speed. A unique feature is using the “shoot” button to knife. To destroy ground-heavy launches like the guard or the gun, you can’t use the combat knife.

Survival combat

The combat knife also appears in the survival battle. The stats are similar to its multiplayer counterpart, but it is much harder to get. Every player always has the Combat Knife with them, but you can only use it if you have no other weapon. You can’t get it on a map without the Pack-a-Punch machine anyway. You are only allowed to own the M1911 and then put it in the machine for punching. After that, you just turn around and walk away so that the machine sucks the gun in. You now have no weapons and the character pulls out the combat knife. However, keeping it isn’t particularly recommended because it only does a bit more damage than the normal knife, the biggest advantages are the quick stabs the player can do with it.
