Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Multiplayer

The Ballista goes down the scope the fastest of all the sniper rifles, at only 35 hundredths (the others all take 40 hundredths). It is also the only sniper rifle that uses a rear sight, though you need an attachment for that. Since it uses a straight pull breach, it’s probably best compared to the DSR 50. The Ballista does less damage but goes down the scope faster, you can move faster when aiming (44% speed instead of just 40%), you move a bit faster (96% movement speed instead of just 95%), it swings out less and you have two more bullets in the magazine. However, when you’re lying down, the swing isn’t reduced, which is the case with all the other in this category.

The damage multipliers of this ensure that you always kill with one hit, from the head down to the lower body. The silencer is an acceptable attachment here because you reduce the muzzle flash and the shots become quieter, although the smoke trail of the bullet can still be seen. In purchase for this, the damage multipliers mentioned above go to the dogs a bit, which means that the area between the stomach and arms no longer guarantees one-hit kills.

The open sight for the ballista is a choice for those people who go limitless into close combat as a sniper. It’s obviously much better suited for that than for ranged combat, for which you should use the normal scope. With this option, you have quite a little momentum, plus you can still hold your breath for better accuracy, which allows for ranged combat even with open sights.

Survival combat

The open-sight ballista appears in Origins and can either be purchased for 500 points on the wall or dug up with a shovel. It works similarly to the Kar98k, so you’re still relatively well protected in the first few rounds, but the further you get, the more precisely you have to aim at the heads of the undead.

Info

  • The bubble in the bubble level of the sight responds to most of the player’s actions, for example sprinting and reloading, but if you lower your gun at some points in the campaign, it doesn’t respond one bit.
  • It is the first sniper rifle to appear outside of a World War 2 game that offers the option to remove the scope.
  • In the campaign, the Ballista’s scope doesn’t work. When you press aim, you don’t see the model of the scope, but the screen simply enlarges and the crosshairs appear while the player simply disappears.
  • The Ballista has an unusable folded bipod.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
