VBL Grand Final takes place online at the end of June

The Virtual Bundesliga Grand Final was actually supposed to take place in front of a live audience at the end of March, but things turned out differently. EA Sports and the German Football DFL have now agreed on a date – the VBL Grand Final will take place online at the end of June.

The German eFootball Champion 2020 will be crowned in an online event. EA Sports and the DFL have now agreed on this, after both declared in April that online implementation was not an option. So yes: the VBL Grand Final 2020 will take place online.

The VBL Grand Final starts on June 24

The VBL Grand Final was originally supposed to take place on March 28th and 29th at DOCK.ONE in Cologne and this time even in front of a live audience, but the ongoing corona crisis threw a spanner in the works for the organizers.

As those responsible at EA Sports and the German Football League (DFL) have now announced, the German eFootball champion will be determined in an online event this year.

All 24 qualifiers will go head-to-head on June 24th at 18:00 CEST in two groups of six participants on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is not played in the usual Ultimate Team mode, but in the well-known 85 mode from FIFA 20.

Finals on June 25th and 28th

Just one day later, on June 25th, the round of 16 will take place, in which the four best players in the knockout system will compete against each other in a crossed two-legged match. Immediately afterwards, the semi-finalists will be determined in the quarter-finals, which will also represent the finalists on both consoles.

The Xbox, PlayStation and cross-console finals will rise after a two-day break on June 28 from 12:00 p.m. ProSieben MAXX will broadcast the games of the final day live on television, and the entire tournament will also be shown in the live stream of the Virtual Bundesliga.

Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous is one of the favourites

After months of worrying, the 24 participating professionals are now preparing again for the VBL Grand Final. Favorites include FIFA World Champion Mohammed “ MoAuba ” Harkous and Michael “ MegaBit ” Bittner.

The reigning German champion MegaBit qualified together with teammate Erhan ” DrErhano ” Kayman in February 2020 with Werder Bremen via the VBL Club Championship.

In addition, Eleftherios “ Lefti ” Ilias from MTW, Dylan “ DullenMIKE ” Neuhausen and Lukas “ Sakul970611 ” Vonderheide belong to the extended circle of favorites of the VBL Grand Finals 2020.

FIFA 22 – FUTs

What could be cooler than just relaxed gaming and doing some sofa sports on the side? In FIFA 22, the player is on the move fast, but without getting sore muscles. With the Ultimate Team Event cards, the collecting instinct is now also satisfied. However, the FUT Heroes keep creeping into my mind, so here are the best Ultimate Team Event cards that are definitely worth adding to your collection.

Heroes cards selected by EA for top qualities

Admittedly, the FUT heroes will cost quite a bit of coin, but it turns out that EA has once again brought some top-class players into the game when it comes to selection. As a collector and hunter, it’s an added attraction for FIFA gamers to now include their own favorite heroes in the portfolio and benefit from their individual skills. Both in the game and in team building, the FUTs will revolutionize the game once again.

EA SPORTS FC: FIFA GAME SERIES TO BE CONTINUED UNDER NEW NAME

Of course, the soccer simulation game series will not be discontinued completely. After FIFA 23, EA will relaunch the game under the name EA Sports FC and market it independently. Old FIFA hares should now become quite an ear, after all, the EA Sports Football Club used to be a part of the actual game for years. A lot of playing was rewarded, points could be collected and items, boosts or balls for the individual game modes could be unlocked.

In this context, there could also be a complete revolution of the classic game. There is a heated discussion in the FIFA community about whether the game, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2023, will be free-to-play. This option is said to be on the table for the game makers from EA, because: It seems that EA earns most of its money with the purchases of FIFA Points in the game mode Ultimate Team and not with the sale of the game itself.
