Valorant tournament for students starts in April

Red Bull and Games are hosting a Valorant e-sports tournament for students. Regional qualifiers start soon, registrations for Valorant’s biggest student tournament are open to young shooter talent.

The Red Bull Campus Clutch consists of more than 300 events in over 50 countries and offers students the opportunity to represent their campus on a regional, national and global level. Which campus is the best in the world will be revealed at the offline grand finale in Spain. Let’s hope that by then, travel has become permissible and morally acceptable.

With the partners AOC, SteelSeries and Intel, the tournament has sponsors that can be seen. Fittingly, the finalists in the national get to take home a state-of-the-art gaming hub for their university and earn a spot in the global tournament, where they can compete with students from around the world.

Teams compete against each other online in a 5-versus-5 format. A total of five to ten qualifying rounds are played to filter out the teams that will compete in the national finals.

The national finals may also be played online due to current Covid 19 restrictions. Germany’s top candidate will represent its university country against 53 other nations.

 

 

Whoever can prove themselves as the world’s best varsity team at the grand final will receive prize money of 20,000 euros and an invitation to the upcoming Valorant Master Event, a tournament that will take place within the Champions Tour 2021. There, the can experience the very big names of the scene live.

To participate, you’ll need to apply for a team of five students and sign up for one of the five possible qualifiers. These are divided by region.

Those who should especially hurry with their registration are the dear fellow students from the south. They can still register until April 3 and will start their first qualifying rounds in the afternoon.

In the southwest you can register until April 10, in the east until April 11. If you study in the west of Germany, you can register until April 17. Germany’s northerners can even take their time registering until April 24.
