Valorant pro Sinatraa fired over abuse allegations

Valorant pro Sinatraa is currently accused of sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend Cleo ‘cle0h’ Hernandez. The evidence presented is overwhelming and has now led to him being kicked off his team, the Sentinels, until further notice. Here’s the full story.

Trigger warning: this story is about sexual abuse. We won’t give explicit details, though.

Sinatraa’s ex-girlfriend cle0h is accusing him of sexual abuse. She has posted a 9-page Word document describing the abuse, manipulation and gaslighting she suffered during her relationship with Sinatraa.

Cle0h has broken her silence after a year since the end of the relationship and talks about her mental problems that she had to endure before, during and after the relationship with Sinatraa. It takes a lot of courage to tell about your own abuse. For that, Cleo deserves the utmost respect.

Cle0h provides both text messages and Discord DMs that serve as examples of the countless times she was manipulated and controlled by Sinatraa.

Cle0h explains in her Word document what the relationship with Jay was like for her:

“He would always check my location to see where I was, which was fine, but sometimes it would slip up and he would immediately accuse me of cheating. He’ll probably try to say he was joking here, but he wasn’t joking.”
This is typical behavior in an abusive relationship. The abuser is constantly trying to convince his victim that she is the one doing something wrong. And there is real paranoia behind it that he might be abandoned by her.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there. From the very beginning of their relationship, Sinatraa is said to have sexually harassed his girlfriend. In the beginning, it was still sexual acts that she did not consent to. Later, the entire sexual relationship between the two took place without her consent. Sinatraa could not take no for an answer, even if his girlfriend at the time was in great pain.

The 9-page Word document contains many disturbing details that we will spare you from at this point. It even includes an explicit audio recording of the abuse. The allegations are detailed, conclusive and backed up with evidence. But what does Jay have to say about it?

From Cleo’s last post, it appears that she remembers our relationship differently than I do. What we agree on is that it was unhealthy for both of us. I apologize to Cleo and regret how things ended, but I never abused her in any way. I am cooperating fully with the investigation and am providing the full audio and video clips that Cleo referred to in her posting.
Apparently Sinatraa has a different view of events and denies that he ever abused cle0h. He claims to be able to show his innocence with his own evidence. But he only seems willing to share it with the investigators who are looking into the situation. We have to assume that the full clips are related to the audio clip included in the 9-page Word document that cle0h shared on March 9.

The 9-page document contains a lot of information and several incidents of abuse. Given the seriousness of the allegations, the future of Sinatra’s esport career could come to an end. After all, when it comes to such issues, there is no room for error and no tolerance.

Riot Games was the to respond, announcing via their VALORANT Champions Tour NA Twitter account that they were suspending Sinatraa from the upcoming event and conducting an investigation.

Just moments later, the Esports team Sinatraa currently plays for also suspended him. The Sentinels fired Sinatraa and plan to conduct an investigation as well. Meanwhile, they have also found a replacement in Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo.

But that’s not the end of it. The Overwatch League, run by Activision-Blizzard, is now offering refunds for all Overwatch skins based on Sinatraa. We think it’s good that Activision-Blizzard is being pretty proactive about this situation.

It is very unlikely that Sinatraa will be cleared of the allegations and get his spot back. The burden of proof is too overwhelming and we hope that the whole thing will be cleared up quickly.

Overwatch

Overwatch is a computer game by Blizzard Entertainment (Diablo 3, World of Warcraft) and a first-person shooter with individual elements. The game was released in May 2016.

In Overwatch, the player must choose between 21 unique characters, which can be freely selected in a loosely held classification system (offensive and defensive class, support unit and tanks).

A character’s three to four different abilities can be controlled and activated through the mouse and keyboard. The game modes already vary from scoring points to cargo hauling. Team play is required in both modes, as each character takes on a specific role in the battlefield (e.g. heal teammates, provide backup, or secure defensive lines).

The name Overwatch derives itself from a fictional elite military unit that came together when robots tried to subjugate humanity in a near future. Individual characters are associated with this unit in the game, while others oppose it. It is not yet known whether the storyline will continue in multiplayer.

Brawl

Brawl is a game mode in which time-limited rule variations of the well-known modes are drawn. Sometimes completely new game modes are used in Brawls.

Rule variations include, for example, the restriction to certain heroes or classes, changes to the cool-down times or certain cards. New game modes that have been playable so far include a soccer game and a PvE mode.

Usually, Brawls are restarted as Brawl of the Week every Tuesday at 22:00 UTC and are then playable for a week. On certain occasions, such as – Season al events, Brawls may also be playable for a longer or shorter period of time.

The game mode is comparable to the card chaos from Hearthstone and was activated for the first time in the beta phase on March 22, 2016 through a patch.
