Valorant Player of the Month, January 2022: AverageJonas

Valorant Player of the Month, January 2022: AverageJonasSince we started our Player of the Month series for , we’ve always talked about pros and players whose we simply admire. This month, however, we’re talking about someone who can entertain us in a different way.

AverageJonas is a Norwegian streamer and has been known to the world for a long time – some of you may still know him as an Overwatch semi-pro, Twitch streamer, or just a meme lord who likes to sing about gaming. However, in the last two years, he has become the one person who offers something unique to the Valorant community with his style. VCT – Season 2022 is just getting rolling and even though he doesn’t even play himself, he still becomes an integral part of the biggest events of the year and takes them to the next level.

AverageJonas & Valorant

As I’m sure a few of you know, AverageJonas is a singer with an operatic past and his Valorant video was actually a… Song about Jett Mains. He started with Valorant in closed beta because he couldn’t travel, he had to stay at home. And well, with Valorant he stayed.

Right after the game’s release, he started posting more and more content about Sova – our favorite wallhack agent – and honestly, it’s probably because of him that he’s so popular. Of course AverageJonas wasn’t the person who made Sova so strong, but his streams and other content definitely gave a different meaning to the words “shock dart”.

By now AverageJonas is an official VCT caster, one of the biggest content creators in Valorant, signed to Team Liquid and the face on the posters of many Sova Mains. And he hasn’t even lost his passion for singing! Check out his “Die for You” cover (and compare it to his “Jett Main” song for the memes):

Why is AverageJonas our Player of the Month?

With the VCT Games just around the corner and plenty of opportunities for us to pick a pro, we decided to pick someone who is always good for entertainment – off– Season or not. When big events are on stizzl, he either casts them or organizes watch parties on his Twitch channel. When nothing is going on in the Valorant scene, he still comes up with cool ideas to spend time with his viewers. This month, he streamed a total of 150 hours on Twitch and didn’t neglect his YouTube channel either.

Another unique selling point of AverageJonas is that he has now become a real force for the game. When he tests new lineups in the stream or looks at the lineups of his viewers, they are usually at the start of his next games. Although he’s not a pro, he explains everything in great detail and it’s just fun to listen to him. Even if you’re not a Sova main, your fingers are itching to maybe give the Russian agent a try. All this makes him not only our Valorant Player of the Month, but also the go-to streamer for many fans – no matter if they are interested in Esports, Memes or Gameplay.
