When did VALORANT come out?
Valorant was launched by developer Riot Games in October 2019 under the name “Project A” . The developers triggered a real hype. Six months later, on March 1, 2020 , a video called “The Round” appeared on Riot’s YouTube channel . There Valorant was officially presented. In April 2020 , the tactical shooter Valorant then went into closed beta .
Since the release date of June 2nd, 2020, Valorant is available in full version . There was a reset, which means: All points, levels, agents and even skins were reset. Of course, players got the Valorant points back (even with a subsidy!). As a thank you for participating in the beta, all beta testers received a banner and a talisman.
During the first half of 2021, Valorant should get its own test server (PBE) . This allows changes to be pre-tested by the community and Riot Games to respond to feedback before live servers are affected. This is intended to prevent scandals such as the Omen exploit in the future .
How much does VALORANT cost?
Just like League of Legends, Riot Games relies on a free-to-play model for Valorant . But then how do the developers make money with it? In the shop you can buy cosmetic items such as skins for agents and weapons for real money. Don’t worry, the items in the shop will not provide any advantage in the game ! This is intended to prevent Pay-2-Win , as has been criticized in many other games.
You can also purchase a Battle Pass . This includes skins and other rewards. Of course, the €10 premium version comes with much better stuff than the free Battle Pass.
Where can I download Valorant?
Since the release of the full version of Valorant, you can download the game for free on the Riot Games website . All you need is a Riot account. Unfortunately, there is no console or mobile version . So cross-play isn’t an issue at first . But with Riot making an effort to develop LoL for mobile devices with Wild Rift, it is not unthinkable that Valorant will eventually come to the market for consoles.
What are the system requirements for VALORANT?
You don’t need a high-end PC to be able to play Riot’s new title right after the release. Riot deliberately implemented low system requirements to accommodate as many players as possible. Even on PCs that are up to ten years old, Valorant should still run at up to 30 FPS (frames per second).
PC-Hardwareanforderungen:

- 1 GB graphics card memory

Why is Valorant 16+?
Unlike CS:GO, Valorant has very comic-like graphics, but it is still FSK 16 approved. This is due to the fact that explicit violence is depicted. When hit, blood spurts and the corpses of slain enemies remain on the ground . With the FSK 16 release, Valorant is on a par with shooters like Counterstrike, Overwatch and PUBG.
How many players does Valorant have?
Unfortunately, Riot does not publish exact figures regarding the current number of players. But two things can be said: Especially at the beginning Valorant reached absurd viewer numbers . During the beta phase, up to 1.7 million people watched Valorant at the same time. The number of viewers is now significantly lower. However, we are convinced that Riot Games would have announced if they had more active players than their CS:GO competitor . Since that’s around 1.1 million players, Valorant should be a bit below that .
The mood in the community isn’t the best right now, as many feel that the game is becoming less and less popular. But don’t let that put you off. As someone who has been playing CS:GO for years, I can say that Valve’s shooter has been reportedly dying for years. A good game will never quite die!
How does Riot Games’ Valorant work?
Valorant is a 5v5 tactical shooter . As a player you take on one of the many agents that Riots FPS has to offer. In the main mode there is an attacking team and a defending team. Both teams consist of five players.
As in Counterstrike, the attackers have to plant a bomb, the so-called “spike” . Of course, this is only possible at certain points on the map. If the bomb explodes or all defenders are dead, the attackers get a point. If the defenders defuse the bomb, or kill all of the attackers before the spike is even planted, they get the point.
After twelve rounds there is a change of sides in Valorant. The first team to win 13 out of 24 rounds wins the match .
What ranks are there in Valorant?
Similar to League of Legends, Valorant has Iron through Diamond ranks . After that in Riots FPS comes the ranks “Immortal” and “Radiant” Iron to Immortal are each divided into 3 divisions . 1 is the lowest and 3 is the best. According to Riot, the top 1% of players in a region are in Immortal and only the top 500 make it into Radiant .
More game modes
Other game modes include Spike Rush and Deathmatch .
Spike Rush is a much faster twist on the normal game mode. Matches here often only last up to twelve minutes.
Deathmatch is a free-for-all mode . It lasts a maximum of 9 minutes. Up to 15 players compete to be the first to get 40 kills. What is special is that you have unlimited money, but no skills. In Valorant, Deathmatch is often used as a warm-up.
Valorant: The Agents
In the beginning there were only eight agents in Valorant. There are now a total of 14 pieces . The newest is called Yoru. Each agent has unique abilities and a particularly strong ultimate ability. But you can rarely use them. Agents can be roughly divided into four classes:
- Duelists: make sure your team doesn’t lack damage.
- Initiators: Heal, support — the supports.
- Tactician : CC and Map-Control.
- Guardians: Can create safe zones for allies.
When you create a new Valorant account, you only have 5 agents available : Brimstone , Jett , Phoenix , Sage and Sova . You can gradually unlock the rest. You’re probably wondering: so many agents, how am I ever going to learn them all? cl
No problem at all, luckily we have guides to all agents. Just click on the names above. You can find the others here, sorted by their class:
Valorant: The Weapons
Of course, not only the skills of your agents play a role. Your choice of weapon is also crucial to your success . In total there are 17 weapons besides the knife. As usual in FPS games, weapons are divided into categories:
Secondary Weapons
- Classic
- Shorty
- Frenzy
- Ghost
- Sheriff
These weapons are cheap and occupy the second secondary weapon slot. In addition to the standard pistol, there are 4 other secondary weapons. The submachine gun Frenzy , the small shotgun Shorty , the silenced Ghost and the mighty Sheriff .
submachine guns
- Stinger
- Spectre
The Stinger and Specter weapons fall into this category. Both are excellent for puncturing opponents with bullets from point-blank range.
I mean, you guys know how shotguns work. Camp, move away and meet God help you. Get close and miss the opponent a new hole. The shotguns in Valorant are called Bucky and Judge . Very nice names, we think.
assault rifles
- Bulldog
- Guardian
- Phantom
- Vandal
In this category are the best weapons. You should invest some time to learn one of them. Whether Bulldog , Guardian , Phantom or Vandal , you are well advised with an assault rifle.
Sniper Rifles
- Marshal
- Operator
Not in the mood for spray control? Then just buy a Sniper! Similar to CS:GO, there is a cheaper, weaker Rifle ( Marshal ) and an expensive, powerful Rifle ( Operator ).
machine guns
- Odin
- Ares
Machine guns go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Lots of damage, more ammo, little accuracy, and even less popularity in the community. That describes the Odin and Ares quite well. Just because the weapons are named after gods doesn’t mean they’re divinely good…
What maps are there in Valorant?
Unlike League of Legends, Valorant has five maps for the main mode . At first there was only the sandy Bind, the Asian-inspired Map Haven , Split with its urban jungle and the cloud city of Bespin, I mean Ascent . Meanwhile, the frosty map Icebox has been added. Guides to the maps are of course hidden behind the links .
In a game like Valorant, it is of course extremely important to know the names of the places where the opponents are. So here is a small but fine guide to call-outs :
Are there cheaters in Valorant?
Valorant’s anti-cheat system Vanguard grants itself an extremely large number of rights on your computer . On the one hand, this means that it can collect an extremely large amount of data, but on the other hand, it also makes it extremely difficult for cheaters . So it’s not like CS:GO, where you play extremely suspicious people every third game.
Are there bugs/glitches in Valorant?
No matter how much effort Riot puts into their anti-cheat, bugs and glitches arise during development . Valorant was not spared either.
Agent Killjoy was able to place his turrets under the map and Sage was able to use abilities before the round even started . Poor Omen got hit twice :
Valorant, CS:GO and Overwatch — a comparison
Throughout this article we have often mentioned other games such as Counterstrike or Overwatch. And with good reason! Riot’s shooter Valorant has made good use of the two competitors.
Attacker and defender teams of five? Place a spike on a bomb spot that needs to explode? Weapons and Abilities (Smokes, Molotovs, etc.) that need to be purchased every round ? Well, if that doesn’t sound 1-A like CS:GO , then I don’t know what does…
But we also know some elements of Valorant from Overwatch: different heroes who have unique abilities ? An Ultimate that needs to charge up? Riot, how did you guys get away with that? Well, better stolen than poorly self-developed .
Of course, the goal was to be competitive in the esports market. Did it work out?
Valuing E-Sports
As mentioned above, Valorant has had insanely good viewership on Twitch . But of course there is more to a long-lasting esports title than that. Popular teams and rivalries keep interest high and viewers loyal. Some of the big names in Valorant are:
FPX, BIG, NIP, Team Liquid, G2, FaZe, T1 und TSM
Many of the teams have CS:GO veterans on board as their base. They bring tournament experience, as well as a brand and a fan base. Of course, there are now many talented young players.
OVERWATCH 2 – A VISUAL EVOLUTION
Overwatch 2 takes the world and gameplay to a new level: the environments are more dynamic, the battles are more comprehensive, improved effects and shadows enrich the atmosphere in the game. You will be immersed in the story of Overwatch in gripping events. All heroes will get a completely new, even more detailed and authentic look in Overwatch 2.
The five best Overwatch skins
As really cool – so you could title the new Overwatch skins. Because Blizzard Entertainment has really put a lot of effort this time and gifted the community with new cosmetics.
The OverwatchEcent Archives is in full swing. And once again, it takes us back to the original Overwatch team that used to fight in the streets of King’s Row against the rebellion started by the Null Sector. We also remember eight years ago when we took control of Blackwatch, a terrorist organization bent on destruction. But besides all the nostalgia, there’s something else that makes this event: the Archives skins. Here comes the top 5 of the best Cosmetics.
5th Place: Zarya’s “Workout.”
Giving us a bit of workout reality is Zarya’s “Workout” skin at #5. At a young age, Zarya identified a lot with athletics and here she shows that she’s a tough woman. But we honestly expected something more from the professional weightlifter. Still, the skin turned out quite nice.
4th Place: Roadhog’s “Militia” Look
Blizzard has done a good job of mixing the scout and military outfits, so Roadhog’s “Militia” skin lands in 4th place. We especially love the patches attached to the dungarees, but this skin isn’t as colorful and fancy as, say, other skins in the ranking. For that, it gets a solid 4th place.
3rd place: Junkrats “King Jamison
Majestic and bold in 3rd place is Junkat’s “King Jamison” skin. After being banished from Junkertown by the queen, he’s back and presents himself as a real eye-catcher that the queen would be jealous of. We were taken with the golden leg, but so much potential was lost with the rather plain shirt. That’s why Junkrat only makes it to number 3.
2nd place: Pharah’s “Aviator” style
Lieutenant Fareeha “Pharah” comes flying in at number two, in a stunning look that should wow anyone. The aviator sunglasses plus jetpack give her a thematically badass appearance that still makes her look cool and beautiful.
1st Place: Ana’s “Sniper” Skin.
Ana breathes new life into us with her “Sniper” skin and is unrivaled our No. 1 spot. During the Omnic crisis in her earlier years, Ana slayed the Omnics in this color stunning outfit. Her red scarf, headset and many other smaller accessories add the finishing touches to the skin that have us excited.
We’re excited to see when and with which skins Blizzard will wow us again. For more info on Overwatch and everything else about the world of Esports and gaming, check out Early Game.
