With the new year, the new – Season of Valorant is just around the corner and with it comes a new agent, a new skin series, and the next Battle Pass. This time, Riot Games takes its inspiration for Episode 2 Act 1 from Japan and lets the country’s cultural style reflect from all corners of its team shooter.
Yoru, the new agent isn’t just Japanese-inspired, he’s Japanese-puffed. Like a ninja, Yoru relies on various tools to reposition himself or create doubles of himself. The arcadey inflation duelist will be released on January 12, 2021. Here you can see the young Japanese in full battle gear:
Yoru is dressed a bit too colorfully to be one with his surroundings.
With his C skill “Imitation,” Yoru players equip an echo that, when activated, fakes crotch sounds to the enemy. In a cloud of smoke, this ability is useful for throwing the enemy off the scent. “Surprise visit” enemies get when Yoru uses his E ability. With this, you can send an anchor forward and teleport to the anchor position when reactivated.
Yoru’s Q Skill “Take You By Surprise” lets him throw a fragment from another dimension when in fire mode, which becomes a bolt of lightning when it hits a hard surface, causing damage to enemies. The ultimate ability, “Dimensional Step,” is like a ninja mode. Yoru moves in another dimension in a certain time window and cannot be seen or hit by enemies.
With Yoru, the developers wanted to create an agent that brings the concept of “stealth infiltration” into play.
“On the other hand, Yoru should also become an agent with whom you can experience really GREAT moments in the game. So those rounds after which you feel like you’re the best player ever when you’ve done everything right.” The Dimension Ninja sounds quite interesting, at least.
Along with the Japanese agent, a new skin set also joins the Valorant universe – Japanese style, of course. For Ghost, Phantom, Spectre, Ares and Operator these colorful weapon covers are available. Here you can see the “Run it Back” skin set in full bloom.
The skin series bears the nostalgia-suggesting name due to its source of inspiration – the weapon skins from the first – Season , which many latecomers had wished for back, according to Riot Games. Players can get the entire bundle for 5,946 VP, and the individual weapons can be purchased without the bundle price discount.
Speaking of purchases, there is also a new Battle Pass this – Season . For a price of 1,000 VP, you can gradually unlock twelve weapon skins and other cosmetic items. The pass also includes some popular items, such as the Salt Shaker Talisman or the Phantom Infinity. You have until March 1, 2021 to earn the – Season al Pass rewards.
