Valorant Agent 18: Skills, Role and Release Date

’s Episode 3 Act 1 launched on June 22 and added KAY/O as the 16th agent. Since Agent 17 has already been teased, let’s turn our attention to Agent 18 and what we know so far.

There are currently 16 agents in Valorant, but that number will increase to 18 by the end of Episode 3. Unless Riot decides to leave out the agent in one of the upcoming acts, as they did in Episode 2 Act 3. Now you might be wondering – why are we discussing Agent 18 when Agent 17 hasn’t appeared yet? To put it simply: Agent 17 was revealed as Deadeye and we still know very little about Agent 18, which makes it much more interesting!

Agent 18 codename, abilities and role

Recently, Agent 18’s codename was discovered by data miners, and it is “Sprinter”.

While the final name of the agent might be different (Grenadier was actually KAY/O), the codename gives us some hints about possible abilities. Sprinting is usually not possible in tactical shooters like Valorant. In order to achieve the highest possible movement speed, players have to bring out their melee weapons. The sprinter could be an exception to this rule and will either have no deduction for movement speed from other weapons or extra movement speed with a knife. Either that or the new agent will simply have some sort of ability that increases movement speed.

Sprinter’s role is also unclear, but currently, there is a shortage of Guardians in Valorant. Here is the distribution:

  • Duelists – 5
  • Tacticians – 4
  • Initiators – 4
  • Guardians – 3

This is all pure speculation, so take it all with a grain of salt. We won’t know 100% until Agent is officially released.

Agent 18 Release Date

Agent 18 will be coming in a couple of months. The most likely release date is October 19, because that’s when we can expect Episode 3 Act 3 to be released.
