Valkyrie is one of the most popular legends in the entire game. Okay, she’s pretty broken. That’s why she’s a must-pick in ALGS (Pro League)! And even though she’s been generated recently, it hasn’t changed her power at all.

So… you should unlock Valk first, if you haven’t already. Very nice. Now we have some tips for you.

Who is Valkyrie?
Kairi Imahara, to use her real name, is the daughter of a pilot. Her father was her idol, but when she was little, he went on a fatal mission. Since then, she has been on a quest to find the man who put her father in danger in the first place…. his commander, Blisk.

As a young adult, Valk was anything but an angel. By day she was smuggling goods, by night she was getting drunk in bars. Still, she never forgot her father and even vowed to avenge him one day.

She was able to track Blisk down and almost had the chance to kill him. However, he was able to convince her that he regretted her father’s death. So she didn’t kill him, she just shot him in the leg and stole his Apex Games card. So now she is part of the Games and has fallen in love with Loba.

How strong is Valkyrie?
Valkyrie is perhaps the best legend in Apex Legends. Next to Bloodhound, she is in the S-Tier without any ifs or buts.

3/5 She’s probably not the best legend for beginners, but she’s not that hard. After a few hours of play, you should be able to handle her just fine.

Strength in Battle Royale

6/5 Illegally strong. Realtalk, her Ulti is simply a joke in a BR.
Strength in Arenas 2/5 Valkyrie is more made for Battle Royale, not Arenas. She’s not too bad here either, her Tactical is actually really good in this environment. However, we would rather see her in the B-tier here than the S-tier.
What abilities does Valkyrie have?
Tactical Ability: Missile Swarm
Recharge time: 30 seconds

• Effect:
• Fires 12 missiles (4×3 array), which deal damage and stun enemies.
• Minimum target distance is 12 meters and you cannot use the ability if a structure is directly above Valkyrie.

Passive Ability: VTOL Jets
Recharge Time: The jetpack charges within 10 seconds, but doesn’t start charging until 8 seconds have passed since it was last used. So it takes a total of 18 seconds.
Effect: Double jump to put on a jetpack that can be used for 7 seconds.
Bonus: Valk additionally sees enemy squads during skydiving or her ult. Enemies will be highlighted in green for you and your team. Kill leaders are marked with a “K”, while champion squads get a “C”.
Select hold rather than toggle mode for jetpack control, as you’ll be much more precise on the move.

• Recharge Time: 3 minutes
• Effect:
• Jump 180 meters into the air and land wherever you want.
• Teammates can come with you if they hold onto your hand while jumping.

How should you play Valkyrie?
Valkyrie’s general play style
Valkyrie gives you a lot of Intel and extremely gnarly Mobility thanks to her Skills. While her Tacitcal also does damage, you should use it more as a distraction. Better that way than playing overly aggressive because of this part of her kit.

Valk’s utility also means you should never be the first to walk through a door when another team is being pushed. But of course, don’t be at the very end either. Just use their Mobility for you and your team at the appropriate places and thus make life hell for the opponents. As soon as it becomes necessary, you can theoretically always escape from danger. So even a split from the team becomes less dangerous than with other legendaries.

It’s also important that Valkyrie can harass opponents throughout. With her jetpack and ult, you can always easily get to safety and thereby poken the opponents and make them despair. So do exactly that, don’t let them revive, don’t let them rest at all, just keep on hitting them.

And please, please, please just stay away from fighting in rooms. You can fly, duh, so please stay out and take advantage of it! Otherwise you’ll lose all their utility.

Valkyrie’s role within the team
Since Valkyrie frequently flies around and separates herself from her own team, she’s not exactly suited as a leader of sorts in the game. As just mentioned, she does provide some utility to the team, but she always has to reposition herself in fights or even move away from her mates. In the end, she is something like the lone wolf in your squad – you should give her this freedom as well.

The best weapons & equipment for Valkyrie
There’s really no equipment that Valkyrie needs more urgently than your other mates. Actually. That’s because there’s Ult Throttle. Her Ult is just so clutch that the team should let her have the Accelerants.

In terms of weapons, we think a Peacekeeper is ideal, since you can rush down on enemies pretty quickly with Valkyrie. In the other slot, however, you can take a safer approach and go with a mid-range weapon.

Newcastle or Lifeline
Valkyrie already gives you so much mobility that you don’t have to worry about it. It’s best used with an aggressive leader and a support legend like Lifeline or Newcastle. If you want to focus your game on Voice Lines and Lore, you should take Bangalore and Loba – this completes the Love Triangle of the Century.

How can I counter Valkyrie?
Here are some general tips on how best to play against Valkyrie:

Go inside and also bait Valkyrie in to you. Indoors she is useless and if she is thirsty she may make that serious mistake and follow you.
If Valkyrie is about to jump or has just landed, she can’t do anything. Just keep at it with all kinds of weapons and exploit that vulnerability.
Always praying to God, Jesus, or some other supernatural power that she finally gets the nerf she deserves (and needs).

Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.

At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.
