“Update your bank profile”: DKB and Advanzia targeted by phishing emails

Do you have an account with or DKB? Then watch out for phishing emails with the subject “Update your bank profile”. Cyber criminals want your data.

  • DKB and Advanzia Bank customers are currently the victim of phishing mails.
  • Allegedly your card has been blocked.
  • You will be asked to enter your bank details to reactivate your card.

Two banks are currently being targeted by cybercriminals. Phishing mails with the subject “Update your bank profile” are being sent in the name of DKB and Advanzia Bank. The content of the mails is very similar.

Both messages inform you that your bank account or card has been temporarily blocked due to irregular activity. You will be asked to verify your identity in order to unblock your account. To do so, you should click on an attached link. According to the consumer advice center, if you do this, you will land on a fake website of DKB or Advanzia Bank, where personal data and bank details are requested from you.

The phishing mail from Advanzia Bank can be quickly identified as a fake due to numerous spelling mistakes. Do not respond to the demands and delete the mails. Your bank would never ask you for sensitive data.
