EA Sports has announced the Title Update 9 for “FIFA 22”, which will be released shortly for the PC. A deployment for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia is also planned, but only at a later date.

A key point of the new update is the removal of Russian teams from “FIFA 22”. It is a reaction to the ongoing war of aggression by the Russian Federation, during which numerous war crimes have been documented, including women and children as victims.

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and, like so many voices in the world of soccer, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” EA said in its latest statement. “In line with the real-world actions taken by our partners at FIFA and UEFA, this title update includes the removal of the Russian National Team and all other Russian teams.”

The removal of the Russian teams includes the following changes:

• The selection of the favorite club was changed to PSG if the Russian national team or another Russian team was previously selected.
• Otkritie Bank Arena was removed.
• The Russian national team and other Russian teams have been removed.
• Arena player and goalkeeper selection changed to PSG players if Russian National Team or other Russian team players were previously selected.

For career mode, the Russian national team and other Russian teams are no longer available in any competition when a new score is created. As a result, these teams are not represented in any competition and players cannot be offered a management contract with the Russian national team.

In the case of Pro Clubs, the selection of jerseys will be changed to PSG if the jersey of the Russian national team or another Russian team was previously selected. And also items to customize the stadium accordingly will be removed.
