• TSM goes to the starting line with a female roster

TSM is sending a female Valorant team to compete in the VCT Game Changers tournament. With this, another big name now joins the ranks in the North American inclusion tournament from Valorant developer Riot Games.

The Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers is an initiative to help women and other underrepresented genders break into the professional e-sports scene and discover some hidden talent. In February, the program, including the tournament, was announced via Valorant’s Twitter account.

TSM also wants to contribute to the equal treatment of women in e-sports and has five talented Valorant female players competing under its flag in the VCT Game Changers. On YouTube, Team SoloMid introduces its female shooters:

At the Open Qualifiers of the inaugural VCT Game Changers series, TSM will be represented by Catherine “Cath” Leroux, Katherine “LunarKats” Emily “mle” Peters, Zoe “Zoe” Servais and Mirna “Athxna” Noureldin.

“We wanted the best players to build our competitive Valorant presence – and we found them,” emphasized Andy “Reginald” Dinh, CEO of TSM.

“Cath has been a true leader since 2017 and has proven her dominance in numerous matches. Athxna has impressed us as an in-game leader and comes with the skills of LunarKats, mle and Zoe to incredible potential.”

Player Cath is excited about joining such an established organization as TSM: “My competitive drive has never left me and I’m looking forward to competing under the TSM banner again.”

Prior to TSM, trailblazer Cloud9 became the first North American team to introduce an all-female roster. In addition to Cloud9 White and TSM Female, Dignitas Female, Main I love Fwogs, Maneless, Hellions, Nahps, Moon Raccoons Black, CLG Red have already signed up for the competition.

TSM Female will play the first match in the Open Qualifiers of the first VCT Game Changer tournament today, contributing to the development of a female e-sports scene.

What do you think of the VCT Game Changers? In my first column, I criticized the approach of a special inclusion tournament for women. Now I have to at least admit that including such big names as TSM and Cloud9 can certainly make a difference to the reputation of female professional players, if of course they play as well as TSM promises.
