Trainers say the new raid difficulty is great, but one thing bothers them

Legendary Mega Raids now feature level 6 Raid difficulty for the time in Pokémon GO, which some players are happy about, while others find it too crunchy. But there is one thing that both factions find disturbing.

What’s new? Since the launch of the Air Event, Legendary Mega Raids have been available for the first time. Before that, you could already participate in Mega Raids, but without Legendary Pokémon. The debut of Mega Latios and Mega Latias was a big thing in the community. Because with the new bosses, the difficulty was also increased.

Some trainers rant that the raids are way too hard. But another part says: The difficulty of the new raids is good, but the rewards are not.

Are the new raids too hard?

What trainers say about the difficulty: In the first hours after the launch of the new 6-player raids, it was clear that they were tough. Trainers warned that the new raids are really hard. You should be careful not to play with random players in small groups, because that would just waste your raid passes.

Many rural players who rely on long-distance raid invites have problems with the small team sizes created by some auxiliary raid apps. But there are dissenting voices as well. On reddit, hotterpocketzz writes: It’s okay that the level 6 raids are so hard. He explains it this way:

“I love how hard these raids are. This game has never been challenging outside of PvP, and for the first time in the game’s history, I actually have to think about the composition of my team, coordinate with my friends, and stagger megas to defeat the boss,” hotterpocketzz explains. To him, this feature reminds him of raids from other MMOs, where you have to communicate to solve problems. This would be “a breath of fresh air” and he wishes they would use it as a benchmark for future heavy content. “The rewards aren’t really great, but I hope that. [Niantic sich darum kümmert].”

For his opinion, the player gets a lot of positive feedback from the community.

“I do not think that it is the difficulty [, die stört], it’s more the frustration of working with people who don’t know – or worse, don’t even try – to put together a good team. With a good group of people, these raids are no problem. If you’re playing in a rural community or an inactive pogo community and you only have raid app randoms to help you, it can get frustrating very quickly,” _DRE_ writes on reddit.

“The difficulty is good, but the coordination and communication within Pokémon GO is so bad that it’s not worth the difficulty,” Lucricious1 explains on reddit.

“The difficulty isn’t my problem, but the amount of premier balls is,” R4KD05 writes on reddit. “I beat it in a good time, a very good time if you look at the amount of health. We were over 10 players. I used strong counters and did a lot of damage and got 10 balls for it. That’s crap. Do I bring the same [Leistung] in a normal raid, I get about 18 [Bälle].”

What about the rewards? The rewards and balls you get after a win are not good enough for the community. A big disruptive factor that players agree on.

Because you need more players for the new raids and the bosses hit your Pokémon very hard. So you use up more revive and potions to revive your own attackers. “The current raid reward packages with vivifiers and potions are completely unsustainable,” reddit user rockylizard thinks.

There are now not enough items for healing needed by the strong bosses, the community says.

What do you guys think about this? Do you think that the difficulty of the new raids is good, but the rewards are too low? Or are you dissatisfied with both points and would like to see a completely different improvement? Write us your opinion about the new raids here on MeinMMO in the comments.
