The new “Daily Adventure Smoke” in Pokémon GO is causing a lot of discussion among trainers right now. On the web, some players are showing off their rare finds.
What is that smoke? The daily adventure smoke has been freshly introduced to Pokémon GO and is meant to make for exciting walks. If you ignite the adventure smoke, you will receive Pokémon spawns for 15 minutes.
In the announcement, Niantic had stated that monsters can show up that are otherwise rarely seen in the wild. And that certainly seems to be the case for some trainers.
For example, on reddit and Twitter, many trainers share what they encountered on their adventure smoke walks.
Galar birds are the highlight, but not the only one
What Pokémon spawn in the adventure smoke? Trainers are finding out right now, because the smoke has only been around for a few days and it can only be used once per day.
But it’s already clear that the monster pool seems to be very large.
So it can happen that you meet only “ordinary” monsters on a smoke walk. But at the same time there are also some spawns that you don’t meet otherwise.
The highlight here are the Galar birds Arktos, Zapdos and Lavados. All three Galar varieties can be found with the help of smoke, if you’re lucky. Some trainers already show that they have encountered the monsters:
Cool birds, but: The nasty thing about the legendary Galar birds is that you can encounter them, but a catch is anything but guaranteed. On the contrary, it is even quite unlikely. A very low catch rate is combined here with a very high escape rate – which can lead to the birds simply saying goodbye after a first, unsuccessful throw and looking for the distance.
Then you just have to hope they show up again on the next adventure smoke run. But they are not the only freaky monsters that can show up.
What other spawns are there? One of the most exciting finds was reported by trainer “HaughtyMicky” in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” (via reddit). The showed that through the adventure smoke apparently appeared Tobutz from the trio of lakes – a very rare regional monster.
Still other trainers showed that their daily adventure smoke also earned them Shiny monsters. One user, for example, found Shiny Snickers – but the normal one, not the new Hisui version:
Even in the overall view, the monsters are apparently shown directly as Shiny, as noted by another user who was apparently able to secure Shiny Loturzel:
Things went badly for another trainer, however – albeit somewhat self-inflicted. He apparently lit the adventure smoke in the spotlight hour with Meditie.
But now it’s clear: The adventure smoke obviously can’t compete with the spawns of the spotlight lesson.
What else spawns? In the subreddit, players are talking about a wide variety of spawns. Some apparently found strong evolutions like Rihornior or Guardevoir, others talk about rare monsters like Wuffels or Miniras. Such monsters are usually found only very, very sporadically in the wilderness, if at all.
However, rare spawns are not guaranteed. This is true for the Galar birds, but also pretty much everything else that spawns from the smoke. A real weighting of the spawns cannot be determined yet.
On top of that, not even all trainers have the feature yet. The daily adventure smoke is only being rolled out gradually, but should reach all players in the course of the next week.
